D-Words used by Devils

Genesis 1:26 says: And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.

God is a Trinity – The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  We have three parts to us because we were made in the image of God.  We have a body, a soul and a spirit.

When Adam and Eve sinned, all three parts of man died, just like God promised.  Doctrinal error claims that only our spirit died.  But, we need to realize and deal with the full truth.

2Corinthians 2:16 says: To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?.  The word unto  means 'up to and including'.  True Biblical death  is not just when our soul and spirit leave our body but it is also the ongoing corruption that results in the final act.  Physically, we call that the aging process.  Spiritually, lost people find it harder to accept the truth every time that they reject the truth.  The final stage is when God hardens them and no longer offers salvation.  In our soul, this is the process which turns our thinking to error and increases our feelings of lust and makes our decisions more selfish.

With that in mind, we need to look at what the word of God  tells us about this process in each part of us.

  1. Our Spirit
  2. Our spirit is our innermost being.  It is the main part of us that is eternal.  We are born with a lost, dead spirit that is heading towards the lake of fire.  None of us sought God (Romans 3:10-12).  God came to us and offered salvation if we trust in Jesus Christ  as our personal Lord.  After we accept that relationship, He does everything required to save us.  Ephesians 5 tells us that the relationship between a man and his wife is a picture of the relationship between Christ and the church.  No man is obligated to provide for a woman before they are married.  Likewise, Jesus Christ  does not provide for the lost until after they accept Him as their personal Lord

We are saved because we accept the relationship and we are rewarded or punished because of our obedience or disobedience.  Religion tries to confuse the two but we are told to separate the two processes with their results (2Timothy 2:15).

Colossians 2:14 says: Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.  The handwriting of ordinances that was against us  is the legal record in Heaven which reports every time that we sin.  When we get saved, Jesus Christ  puts on His robe as Lord,  calls court into session, has the angel who is the court reporter get the book where our personal sins are written down and Blots out the handwriting of ordinances.  Then, Jesus Christ  has the angel open up the book of life  and permanently adds our name.  This is part of God adopting us.  He also removes us from His criminal court system (“great white throne”), and adds us to His family court system (judgment seat of Christ).  All of these are legal processes which can only be done, by Jesus Christ,  within His role of Lord

There are several reasons why we can not lose our salvation.  One of those reasons is that no person, nor any devil, can go into Heaven and change God’s legal records.  In addition, Ephesians 2:6 says: And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.  This means that the spirits of saved are in Heaven now, even though their spirit is still connected to their body.  This is another reason why you can not lose your salvation.  No person, nor any devil, can go into Heaven and drag your spirit put of Heaven.

  3. Our Body
  4. 2Corinthians 4:18 says: While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.  The word temporal  means ‘limited and measured by time’.  This physical reality is limited by time.  Some people try to deny that fact but it obviously had a starting point in time and the word of God  tells us that it will end when God destroys it to make the new heaven and new earth.  In addition, our existence in this physical reality is limited by time.  We came into it at conception and will leave at our final physical death.

There are several reasons given why people want to reject this truth but the main reason is that they want to deny their own future death and judgment by God.  The main excuse that people use is their belief of the tenants of a lying religion called Humanism.  The first is called ‘Big Bang’ and the second is called ‘Evolution’.  ‘Big Bang’ is close to the truth except that people deny that God was in heaven and created the physical reality from the spiritual reality.  Instead, they claim: ‘Nothing blew up nothing and created everything with no plan and no order’.  It should be obvious that such a claim is foolishness.  As for evolution, they want you to argue about their ‘missing link’.  Ask such people where the dragons are and the mermaids and how they were supposed to be created and how they reproduce since both require denying true laws of reproduction.

Ask such people how they can play video games which use virtual realities if it takes a gazillion years to make a virtual reality.  The fact, which most religions deny, is that the word of God  tells us that this physical reality is a virtual reality.  Look at 2Corinthians 4:18 which says: the things which are seen are temporal.  It also says: but the things which are not seen are eternal.  Therefore, the spiritual, which is not seen  is reality that lasts while the physical is temporal.  It will not last and your existence in it is limited just like your existence in a video game is limited.  The truth is that this physical reality is God’s virtual reality and your existence in it is a test.  First, will you accept Jesus Christ  as your personal Lord.  Secondly, how much will you obey.  The first gets you everlasting salvation and the second gets everlasting rewards and / or punishment.

Romans 8:19 says: For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.  All of the physical reality was corrupted by sin.  That is why God will destroy it and create a new heaven and new earth.  Likewise, we are promised a new body which is incorruptible,  which means that God will not use any part of our existing body to create it.  Lots of religions claim that we must do lots of things with the body after someone dies.  However, the truth is that what is done only matters to the people who remain alive.

Probably the most denied truth is that we can take nothing out of this world.  (1Timothy 6:7 says: For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out).  The most important lesson for saved people is that we are to use our current physical life to lay up treasure in Heaven.  The only things that we will have for eternity is what we send ahead while we are still in this physical life.

  5. Our Soul
  6. Galatians 5:16-17 says: This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Our soul is: 'The long-term result of the short-term actions of our heart in deciding how we will think, how we will act emotionally to circumstances of life and how we will decide the issues of life'.  We are caught in a spiritual war between God and devils with our souls being the prizes of this war.

God’s Holy Spirit works with our spirit to try and get us to have attitudes and actions like God.  We need to have the mind of Christ,  the will of God the Father  and the emotions commanded by God such as fear not.  God’s Holy Spirit tries to get us to control our heart and soul with these, and similar, commandments.  At the same time, devils tempt our flesh to have opposing attitudes and actions.  They use the following D words.  Many people claim that these words affect our emotions and other claim that they affect our mind but they really affect all three parts of our heart and soul.

    These words are:

Damage, danger, dark, deadly, deaf, Debate, debt, decay, deceit, deceiver, decline, defame, defile, defraud, degenerate, delay, delusion, denied desire, departing pleasure, depression, deride, desolation, despair, despised, despite, destroyed, detested, devoured, Diminished, disallowed, disappointment, disaster, discomforted, discouraged, diseased, disgraced, disfigured, dishonored, dismayed, disobedience, displeasure, disputes, disquiet, distilled, distress, dividing, Doubt, dread, drunken, drift from truth.

Words that can be applied to wrong things: desire, delight, discipline.

The only way to counter these effects by devils is to draw nigh to God  (James 4:8).  He has all of the power to fight devils and we do not.  We draw nigh to God  through prayer, Bible study and obedience.  When we are feeling any of these things, we need to increase our prayer, Bible study and obedience.

Now, these things can affect our physical and if they do, we need to take proper care of our physical.  Things like colds and upset stomachs and similar physical ailments can be caused by attacks on our soul.  We need to do as the doctor says to take care of the physical but we also need to realize that we are taking care of the results.  That is not enough.  We also need to deal with the cause by increasing our prayer, Bible study and obedience.

Finally, staff and Bible students need to realize that devils are more prone to attack them because they influence so many people through the ministry.  Therefore, we need this spiritual help more than many others.
