Graduation

  1. Don't Give Up - John 21:3
    1. There is almost always a time of rest after a graduation and before we receive the position which required that graduation. This is a time of testing. Are you willing to wait for God to open the opportunity that God wants you to have?
    2. Peter not only messed up by not waiting on God, like he was told to do, but he took others into error with him. No man lives to himself nor dies to himself (Romans 14:7).
    3. feed my sheepfeed my lambs  (John 12:15-19). God had a plan for Peter's life and God has a plan for your life. However, often God puts people through a test to see if they will wait for Him to reveal that plan. Wait on God. Be positive that you know that you are doing God's will before taking the next step in your life. This time of decision affects the rest of your life.
    4. Beware of false opportunities offered by the devil. Righteousness is doing the right thing the right way at the right time and with the right attitude. Satan will try to get you to take an opportunity which has one of these things wrong. Satan will make his wrong offer before God gives the right offer. Wait on God. Pray, seek Godly council and make sure that all parts of righteousness is there before accepting a position.
    5. Don't give up on waiting for God. Use the time to pray for God's guidance, to review what you learned while in Bible School, and to be an encourager to others.
  2. Remember judgment - 1Timothy 5:21
    1. I Charge thee.  The functional definition for the word charge  is: 'A superior authority gives a formal and legal command to a subordinate which includes the necessary rights and responsibilities to accomplish the assigned task'.
    2. Paul gave Timothy his promotion to continue the ministry without Paul in 1Timothy. As part of this promotion, Paul gave Timothy this charge  to personally observe these things.  He was to personally obey the doctrine which he had been taught and to do so at a detailed and ongoing manner.
    3. When Paul wrote the words I Charge thee,  he was giving Timothy notice that he would face judgment for how well he obeyed the commandment and that this obedience was to be for all of his life. That is: we are to remember that every little thing in our life, including every word that we say, will be judged by God. Always remember that future judgment.
    4. 2Corinthians 5:10 says: For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.  Remember that the results of our personal judgment can be good or bad. Always seek God's glory in everything and the results of your personal judgment will be good.
    5. 2Corinthians 5:11 continues with Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.  If we persuade men,  by doing the 'Great Commission', then we won't have to worry about the terror of the Lord.  Always remember that your primary duty in this life is to do the 'Great Commission'.
  3. Look to Jesus - Hebrews 12:1-2
    1. You didn't seek Him when you were lost but He sought you and offered you everlasting salvation through an ongoing personal relationship with Him. That is what the Bible means when it says that Jesus (is) the author'of our faith.  Remember that He sought you because He had a plan for your life that will get you great rewards if you let Him guide your life to fulfill His plan for your personal life.
    2. In addition, our reference tells us that Jesus (is) the finisher'of our faith.  That means that He wants to grow our faith into something precious. Remember that Peter writhe to us: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:  (1Peter 1:7)
    3. Back in Hebrews we were told that Jesus for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.  He is our example of how to live in this flesh. He suffered all that he did, even though He was 'God in human flesh', because of the everlasting rewards promised to Him. No matter what God allows in your life, remember to promise of everlasting rewards. Also remember that the rewards are proportional to what we are willing to sacrifice and suffer for Jesus and the kingdom of God.
    4. Luke 22:32 says: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.  You've both had medical problems. So have I. God helps us through problems in life and then tells us to use our experiences to help others who have problems. It is not a question of if we have problems but when and how we deal with them. God les us experience problems as a learning experience. Always remember to use them to strengthen thy brethren.  Always remember that Jesus uses these things to grow our faith and that the growth of our faith is more precious than of gold.
