Romans tells us to Thank God

Home

Romans 1:8  First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

The very first thing that Romans teaches that we we should thank God for is:

Romans 1:20-21  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. We need to thank God that He sought us out and revealed Himself to us in a way that led us to salvation.  We need to be warned that every time we reject a truth our heart is darkened.  Notice the order in this sentence and follow it to avoid having your heart being darkened. Romans 6:17  But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

Here we see the result of people truly repenting and turning from the unthankful path to Hell towards God's truth and salvation.

Romans 7:25  O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 14:6-7  He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
