    26. Matthew 26:15 is a fulfillment of Zechariah 11:12-13, which was a prophecy of Jesus Christ  being sold for thirty pieces of silver.  We read what the thirty pieces of silver  was, eventually, used for in Matthew 12:3-9

    32. Matthew 26:19; Mark 14:16 and Luke 22:13 fulfill the prophecy which immediately preceded these references in each associated Gospel.  Jesus  told His disciples exactly what they would find in such detail that was only possible with the power of God through prophecy.

    36. Matthew 27:36-50; Mark 15:34; Luke 23:46 and John 19:30 all report Jesus  dying.  Please see the note for John 19:26 for the 'Eight Sayings from the Cross'.  This sentence fulfills Psalms 22; Isaiah 53:10; Lamentations 1:12 and Lamentations 3:8.  It is also explained by Hebrews 5:7.
    37. Matthew 28:2-4; Luke 24:3-7 and Mark 16:3-4 tell us that the women entered the sepulchre, did not find Jesus,  but were met by angels who told them that He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.  Thus, the angels reminded the women of the prophecy after it was fulfilled.  In addition, The section called Appearances of Jesus Christ After the Resurrection for more references about on resurrection.
    38. There is reason to believe that Revelation 6:15-17 and Revelation 9:6 will fulfill the prophecies of Matthew 24:15-22 and Luke 23:27-31.  Please see the notes for this reference in the Book Study on Luke for the explanation.
    39. In the prior section (Prophecies), we saw where the phrase: sit on (the/my) right hand,  is used in relationship to God the Father.  And, we saw that this phrase is only applied to Jesus Christ.  In addition, we saw that the application is in the Bible references which declare Him to be: King of kings  and Lord of lords.  Although He is not acting within those roles yet, we see that this prophecy was declared to be fulfilled in Matthew 28:18.

    40. Mark 15:46 fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah 59:9.

    41. In Luke 1:19-20, an angel gave a prophecy about the ministry of John the Baptist.  In Luke 1:24-25 we see the first part of that prophecy fulfilled with the conception of John the Baptist.  Please see the Study on John the Baptist for links to where the Gospel accounts tell us about the rest of the prophecy being fulfilled.
    42. In Luke 1:32-33 the angel promises that Jesus  will fulfill God's promise that Christ  would be a physical descendent of king David.  Please see the Prophecy Fulfilled Section for the links to the fulfillment of this prophecy.  Please see the Verses on Son of David for other references to this prophecy.
    43. Isaiah 40:3 and Malachi 3:1 prophesied that God would send His messenger  before God sent His Christ  and the purpose of God's messenger  would be to prepare God's people to receive God's Christ.  This prophecy was fulfilled in John the Baptist.  All of the Bible references to John the Baptist, with accompanying notes, are found in the Study called John the Baptist.  The note for Luke 3:4, in the Lord Jesus Christ Study, has links to other places in the Gospels where we see this prophecy fulfilled and other links to related Bible references.
    44. In Luke 1:41-45 we read that John the Baptist leaped in her (his mother's) womb.  This proves that the prophecy of Luke 1:15 ( he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb)  was true.
    45. Luke 4:16-30 record Jesus  saying that He fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah 61:1-3.

    47. Luke 24:44-46 tell us that Jesus  said: all things must be fulfilled  which were in Old Testament prophecy and that He did fulfill all of the prophecy.  Thus, His resurrection fulfilled prophecy.  Please see the notes for these references in the Book Study on the Gospel of Luke for more details.

    48. In John 2:17 we are told that Jesus  fulfilled the prophesy found in Psalms 69:9.
    49. In John 2:22 we are told that Jesus  fulfilled the prophesy found in the sentences before it.  Please see the sentence, and related notes, in the Book Study on the gospel of John for more links to references about this prophecy.

    51. John 10:35-36 tells us that Jesus  said: If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?  Here, Jesus  quotes Psalms 82:6 and tells them the accepted doctrine that Christ  would be the Son of God  (Psalms 2:2; Psalms 2:6-12; Isaiah 11:2-5; Isaiah 42:1; Isaiah 42:3; Isaiah 49:1-3; Isaiah 49:6-8; Isaiah 55:4; Isaiah 61:1-3; Jeremiah 1:5).
    52. In Matthew 21:1-17 and Mark 11:1-17 and Luke 19:29-44 and John 12:12-16 talk about the time that Jesus  entered Jerusalem in triumph and the people cried Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest  (Matthew 21:9).  This is a fulfillment of Psalms 148 which show us how they praised Him.
    53. In Matthew 21:6-7; Mark 11:7; Luke 19:35 and John 12:14-15 we are told that Jesus  fulfilled a prophesy found in Zechariah 9:9 when He sat on the colt of an ass to enter Jerusalem.  Then, as He entered, Psalms 148 was fulfilled by the way that the people praised Jesus as He entered Jerusalem.  In addition, Matthew 21:1-3; Mark 11:1-2 and John 12:14-15 tell us that Jesus  prophesied that the two disciples would find the ass  in the exact conditions which they found it in.
    54. In John 12:23 Jesus  acknowledges fulfillment of prophecy.
    55. In John 13:18-19, Jesus  prophesied that the disciples would know that He was God's Christ  after they saw the fulfillment of His prophecy that He would be betrayed.  John 20:28 and Luke 24:52 tell us the fulfillment of this prophecy.

    57. In John 15:25 we are told that the religious people who hated Jesus  fulfilled a prophesy found in Psalms 7:4; Psalms 35:19; Psalms 69:4 and Psalms 109:3.  Those prophesied that judgment would come on They hated me without a cause.
    58. In John 17:12 and John 18:8-9 we are told that Jesus  fulfilled a prophesy that those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition.  No commentator, that I found, could say exactly which scripture this fulfilled.  The best that I could find was Deuteronomy 33:3 or Ezekiel 34.  However, in addition to those verses, there are 25 places in the Old Testament which use the words Lord  and preserve  and promises that the Lord  will preserve  those people who dedicate their life to His service.  Please see the note for John 17:12 for those references.
    59. In John 18:8-9 we are told that Jesus  commands His arrestors in order to fulfill prophecy.

    61. In John 16:16 Jesus  told His disciples A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.  His death fulfilled the first part of this prophecy (A little while, and ye shall not see me).  (Please see the section on Harmony; above, for those references.)  John 20:19 fulfills the second part of this prophecy (and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father).  The Chapter Summary notes for Chapters 20 within the Book Study on the Gospel of John show the sequence of events which proves that Jesus  had already gone to the Father.
    62. John 21:18Jesus  prophesied the type of death that Peter's would experience.  This was fulfilled before John wrote his Gospel because John gives us the true interpretation of the prophecy.

The Jews well understood the Bible truth that the Messiah  would be the Son of God,  and that He would identify Himself as such, but used this truth as an excuse to crucify Him since it went against their religious beliefs.  Based on those beliefs, they claimed that they corrected the word of God.  (John 5:18 and Philippians 2:6)
  4. Psalms 118:26 prophesied that God the Father, and our Loed Jesus Christ  would come in the name of the Lord  (meaning 'in the power and authority of God as Lord of all the Earth').  Please use this libnk for the references.

  8. Jesus,  fulfilled the Old Testament role of Messiah,  when He called God the Father  my Father  as a way of claiming to literally be the Son of God.  This was prophesied in: Psalms 89:26-27.  It was fulfilled in: Matthew 7:21; Matthew 10:32; Matthew 10:33; Matthew 11:27; Matthew 12:50; Matthew 16:17; Matthew 18:10; Matthew 18:19; Matthew 20:23; Matthew 24:36; Matthew 25:34; Matthew 26:29; Matthew 26:39; Matthew 26:42; Matthew 26:53; Luke 2:49; Luke 10:22; Luke 22:29; Luke 24:49; John 2:16; John 5:17; John 5:43; John 6:32; John 6:65; John 8:19; John 8:28; John 8:38; John 8:49; John 8:54; John 10:17; John 10:18; John 10:25; John 10:29; John 10:30; John 10:32; John 10:37; John 12:26; John 14:2; John 14:7; John 14:12; John 14:20; John 14:21; John 14:23; John 14:28; John 15:1; John 15:8; John 15:10; John 15:15; John 15:23; John 15:24; John 16:10; John 18:11; John 20:17; John 20:21; Revelation 2:27; Revelation 3:5; Revelation 3:21.

Mark 16:17-18 says: And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.  It is a prophecy which gives signs which were seen in the early church.  Those signs were given to verify that the people who received the signs were speaking for God.  Those signs were for the time before the New Testament was written.  One example is Acts 28:3-6.  Since the New Testament has been written, God no longer uses these signs to show that someone speaks for God.  We now check to see if their message actually matches the revealed character of God and if their message matches what is literally written in the word of God.

  11. Luke 24:51 fulfills the prophecy in Psalms 68:18 that Jesus Christ  would ascend back to Heaven.

In John:

  1. John 1:3 is quoting a truth from Psalms 102:25-27 that Jesus Christ  is the Creator.  God the Father used Him to do things which are beyond our ability to understand (Romans 11:33-34).  Religious people foolishly claim that they understand what it is impossible for any human to understand.  That is why religious people pride fully claim the ability to correct the word of God.
  2. John 1:49 was a fulfillment of prophesies found in Psalms 2:6 that Jesus  would be called King of Israel.
  3. John 2:13-17 was a fulfillment of prophesies found in Psalms 69:9 that Jesus  would be angered by unethical practices by the Jews in the temple.
  4. John 5:30 fulfills the prophecy in Psalms 40:7-8 that Jesus  would devote His life to doing the will of God the Father.
  5. Psalms 45:6-7 that Jesus Christ  will act in rightesousness  and John 5:30 tells us that Jesus  fulfilled that prophect.
  6. John 5:39-40 fulfills the prophecy in Psalms 40:6-8 that Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
  7. John 12:12-13 was a fulfillment of prophesies found in Psalms 2:6 that Jesus  would be called King of Israel.
  8. Psalms 55:12-14 prophesied Jesus  would be betrayed by one of the twelve disciples.  We see this fulfilled in: Matthew 26:21-25; Mark 14:21; Luke 22:21-23; John 13:21-30and 1Corinthians 11:23-34.

In Acts:

  1. Acts 1:9-11 says: And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.  And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven?  This was when Lord Jesus Christ  returned to HeavenJesus  prophesied this in John 7:33; John 13:33; John 14:3; John 14:12; John 14:19; John 14:28; John 16:5; John 16:7; John 16:10; John 16:16; John 20:17.  And, this was also prophesied in the Old Testament in: Psalms 22:27; Psalms 98:3; Isaiah 32:15; Isaiah 42:10; Isaiah 44:3-4; Isaiah 49:6; Isaiah 52:10; Isaiah 59:20-21; Isaiah 66:19; Jeremiah 16:19; Joel 2:28-32; Micah 3:8; Zechariah 4:6.
  2. In Acts 2:14-21, at Pentecost, Peter says that the prophecies of the coming of the Holy Ghost were fulfilled.  Those prophecies were given in John 14:26 and John 15:26-27 and John 16:7Jesus  had to return to Heaven before this could happen.
  3. In Acts 2:16-21, Peter quoted from Joel 2:28-32, which included the phrase: your young men shall see visions.  We see this fulfilled in: Acts 9:10; Acts 9:11-12; Acts 9:9-19 (Peter reported this vision to the church in Acts 11:4-6); Acts 16:9-10; Acts 18:9-10; Acts 26:19-20; 2Corinthians 12:1 and Revelation 19:17.
  4. Acts 5:30-32 tell us that Peter preached to the Jewish religious leaders about the resurrection  of Jesus  and how the apostles were witnesses of that event and that God's Holy Ghost  was also a witness by doing miracles to verify their preaching.
  5. Acts 2:25-27 tells us about Peter quoting Psalms 16:8-11 and saying that it was fulfilled when Jesus  returned to Heaven.  In addition, while the following points also are other places in the New Testament which provide similar doctrines, the links provided are for prophecies which we are told were fulfilled at this time.
  6. Acts 2:25 references Psalms 73:23; Psalms 109:31; Psalms 110:5; Isaiah 41:13 and Isaiah 50:7-9 when it says for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.  This is part of the current ministry of Jesus Christ  for His church.
  7. Acts 2:26 also references Psalms 16:9; Psalms 22:22-24; Psalms 30:11; Psalms 63:5; Psalms 71:23 when it says Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope.
  8. Acts 2:27 also references Psalms 49:15; Psalms 86:13; Psalms 116:3 when it says Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell.
  9. Acts 2:27 also references Psalms 89:19 and Job 19:25-27 when it says neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
  10. Acts 2:34-35 Peter says that the prophecies that Lord Jesus Christ  would sit on the right hand  of God the Father (the place of power just below God the Father) was fulfilled.  We see this prophecy referenced in Matthew 22:44; Mark 12:36; Luke 20:42-43; Hebrews 1:13.  We also see the same doctrine in Psalms 110:1; Mark 12:11; 1Corinthians 15:25; Ephesians 1:22 and Hebrews 10:12.
  11. Acts 4:26-28 tells us about the church praising God after Peter and John were threatened and then let go by the Jewish religious leaders.  In these sentences, the church quoted Psalms 2, which is actually a prophecy of the return of Christ  to rule this world for 1,000 years.  However, our current chapter explains how the church used this future prophecy for an application of their day.  Thus, we see prophecies can have more than one application.
  12. In Deuteronomy 18:15 and Deuteronomy 18:18, Moses prophesied: The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken.  In Hebrews 3:1-2, Acts 3:33 and Acts 7:37; we are told that Christ Jesus  fulfilled this promise.
  13. Acts 7 reports the message that Stephen preached to the Jewish Council.  In it, he rehearsed a summary if Jewish history including prophecies given and prophecies fulfilled.  Please see the Detailed Notes for that chapter in order to find those Bible references.
  14. In: Acts 10:43 we read that Peter preached that all the Old Testament prophecies about Christ  were fulfilled by Jesus.
  15. In: Acts 25:22 we read that king Agrippa said: I would also hear the man myself.  This fulfills the prophecy by our Lord Jesus Christ,  in Acts 9:15, that Paul would testify of Him before kings.
  16. Acts 27:39-44 reports the fulfillment of a prophecy by Paul, in Acts 27:9-10, that the sailing ship and all of the load would be destroyed if they continued.

In Romans:

  1. Romans 9:25 says: As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.  And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.:  The 'Church Age' is a fulfillment of Hosea 2:23.  In addition, all of Hosea 2 is a prophecy of God buying back the Jews who truly repent.
  2. Romans 9:32-33 tells us that Israel stumbled at that stumblingstone (Jesus Christ)  Because they sought it (righteousness) not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law.  This, of course, was when they crucified Jesus  and God set them aside until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled  (Luke 21:24).
  3. Romans 9:32-33, Romans 10:11 and 1Peter 2:6 says:  Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded  and references Isaiah 28:16.
  4. Romans 15:3 says: For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.  This verse quotes Psalms 69:6 which says For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.  Therefore, this verse is directly linking this instruction to the verse which prophesied (For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up) that Jesus  would cleanse  the Temple.

In 1Corinthians:

  1. 1Corinthians 15:54 fulfills Isaiah 25:8.
  2. 1Corinthians 15:55 fulfills Isaiah 26:19; Daniel 12:2; Hosea 13:14 and Matthew 27:51-53.
  3. 1Corinthians 15:55 fulfills Isaiah 28:5.

In Ephesians:

  1. Ephesians 3:4-6 is a fulfillment of the prophesy found in Psalms 18:49 that Jesus Christ  (Messiah)  came to this Earth to save all men and uses God's children to spread God's message of salvation.
  2. Ephesians 3:9 is quoting a truth from Psalms 102:25-27 that Jesus Christ  is the Creator.  God the Father used Him to do things which are beyond our ability to understand (Romans 11:33-34).  Religious people foolishly claim that they understand what it is impossible for any human to understand.  That is why religious people pride fully claim the ability to correct the word of God.
  3. Ephesians 4:8-10 fulfills the prophecy in Psalms 68:18 that Jesus Christ  would ascend back to Heaven.  The next sentence, in Ephesians, gives us the application of that prophecy which we still enjoy today.

In Hebrews:

  1. Hebrews 1:8-9 and Psalms 45:6-7 tell us that the Messiah is God and   Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
  2. Hebrews 1:10-12 is quoting a truth from Psalms 102:25-27 that Jesus Christ  is the Creator.  God the Father used Him to do things which are beyond our ability to understand (Romans 11:33-34).  Religious people foolishly claim that they understand what it is impossible for any human to understand.  That is why religious people pride fully claim the ability to correct the word of God.
  4. Hebrews 6:17-20 tells us that the prophecy of Psalms 110:4 (Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec)  has been fulfilled.

In 1John:

  1. In 1John 1:1-3, we are told that Jesus Christ  fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies that God's Christ  would be 'God in human flesh'.

In Revelation:

  1. In Revelation 12:1 we see the fulfillment of Joseph's prophetic dream which was reported in Genesis 37:9.
  2. In Revelation 14:19 we see the fulfillment of the prophecy by Jacob saying that our Lord Jesus Christ  would be a descendent from Judah and that what is reported in Revelation would come to pass.
  3. In Revelation 16 we read about the fulfillment of the prophecy given in Zechariah 14:1-5.  In particular, Revelation 16:18 fulfills Zechariah 14:5.  It also fulfills the prophecy of Jesus  in Matthew 24:7 and Mark 13 and Luke 21.
  4. Revelation 19:15 says that our Lord Jesus Christ  will fulfill the prophecies of Psalms 2:9; Revelation 2:27 and Revelation 12:5 when He arrives on the Earth and during His 1,000 years reign as Christ.
  5. Revelation 22:18-19 promises a curse on anyone who alters the word of God.
  6. Revelation 22:20 is one of four places where we read: I come quickly.  Every one of those references promise a different blessing to the saved people who fulfill the particular requirement.  This reference promises that our opportunities to lay up treasures in Heaven will be cut off suddenly.

Prophecies.

Revelation 22:16 says: I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches.  This tells us that our Lord Jesus Christ  is the true author.  The angel  is: 'the messenger' who has a job to deliver the original message without altering it in any way.  Think about if someone calls you on the phone and the function of the phone in that conversation.  That is the function of God's 'the messenger' in delivering this Revelation.  And, the 'the messenger' includes John and all of the angels  who delivered the messages and sights to John for him to relay to us.

Revelation 22:6 tells us These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.  This tells us that ALL prophecy, found in the word of God,  is faithful and true.  In addition, 2Timothy 3:16-17 says: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.  That means that all of these prophecies are backed by the character of God.  Any perversion of them is an attack on the character of God.

Revelation 1:10 says: What thou seest, write in a book, and send it (to God's people).  However, Revelation 10:4 says: And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.  Thus, true prophecy comes from God and God decides what is revealed and what is not revealed.

John 16:17-18 tells us that the disciples were confused because they tried to understand prophecy by discussing it among themselves using their own natural reasoning.  They could not understand the prophecy that way.  The same is true for people today.  That is why there are so many false prophets teaching error and doctrines of devils about unfulfilled prophecy.  No person completely understands any unfulfilled prophecy of today, even though false prophets claim to do so.  At least part of the details are hid from all men, by God, until after the fulfillment of the prophecy.  Anyone who claims otherwise proves that they represent a devil.

Revelation 1:12-16 gives us a description of our Lord Jesus Christ  that John saw.  That description must, obviously, be understood symbolically and spiritually.  It is a simple example of a principal which applies to all prophecy.  All prophecy must be understood symbolically and spiritually.  However, like parables, God deliberately leads the lost and the carnal into errors.  Therefore, there is a lot of wrong interpretation of Bible prophecy.  We must look at the life to the person giving the interpretation and see if the true power of God is in their life.  Are they willing to suffer in the flesh in order to serve God or does their life show evidence of pursuing the way of the world and the lusts of the flesh?.

Revelation 1:19-20 tell us that John was told to write prophecy and part of the symbolism, used in Revelation, was explained in those sentences.  We need to be aware that devil-motivated men will try to give us wrong interpretations of prophecies.  As a result, we need to reject all interpretations given by anyone who goes against an interpretation literally provided by the word of God.

Please also check the Prophecy Fulfilled section since sometimes the prophecy and the fulfillment are put into a single note.  Please also look at other sections, such as Harmony; for some prophecies such as prophecies for the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Suffering and Death of Jesus

The prophecies about the suffering and death and resurrection of God's Messiah / Christ  are an excellent example of how God fulfills prophecies.  No one, including all of the religious leaders who lived at the time of Jesus,  understood earlier prophecies about the suffering and death and resurrection of God's Messiah / Christ  even though the prophecies were in the Old Testament.

Resurrection from the Dead

Return of Jesus Christ to Heaven

Return of Christ - Second coming

Other Prophecies
  1. The fact that God would bring the gospel to the Gentiles was prophesied in Isaiah 11:10; Isaiah 42:1, Isaiah 42:6; Isaiah 49:6, Isaiah 49:22; Isaiah 60:3; Isaiah 66:19; Jeremiah 16:9; Malachi 1:11; Matthew 12:18, Matthew 12:21; Luke 2:32; Acts 13:47.
  2. The birth of Jesus  is prophesied as reported in Matthew 1:18-21 and Luke 1:26-38.  In addition, the angel prophesies that God the Father will give Him what is promised only the God's Christ.
  3. In Luke 1:39-56 Mary, the mother of Jesus  visited Elisabeth, the mother of John the Baptist.  At that time, John the Baptist leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost  (Luke 1:41).  Elisabeth then prophesied and, in response, Mary also prophesied.
  4. In Luke 1:67-79, Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist, prophesied after his speech was returned.  He prophesied about God keeping His promises to Israel and about what John the Baptist would do.  These prophesies about Israel will not be fulfilled until after the return of Christ  to rule this world.
  5. In John 1:29 John the Baptist prophesies that Jesus  will taketh away the sin of the world.
  6. In Luke 2:25-38 we are told that Joseph and Mary took Jesus  to the Temple to be circumsized.  When they arrived, the prophet Simeon and the prophetess Anna each prophesied about what Jesus  would do.  In His prophecy, Simeon said that God would bring the gospel to the Gentiles was prophesied in Isaiah 11:10; Isaiah 42:1, Isaiah 42:6; Isaiah 49:6, Isaiah 49:22; Isaiah 60:3; Isaiah 66:19; Jeremiah 16:9; Malachi 1:11; Matthew 12:18, Matthew 12:21; Luke 2:32; Acts 13:47.  He also used the phrase: a light to lighten the Gentiles,  which references: Isaiah 9:2; Isaiah 42:6-7; Isaiah 49:6; Isaiah 60:1-3 and Isaiah 60:19.  He also used the phrase: and the glory of thy people Israel,  which references: Psalms 85:9; Isaiah 4:2; Isaiah 45:25; Isaiah 60:19; Jeremiah 2:11and Zechariah 2:5.  Then in Luke 2:34-35, we have more prophecies.  The phrase: is set  references: Isaiah 8:14-15 and Hosea 14:9.  The phrase: a sign which shall be spoken against  references: Psalms 22:6-8;Psalms 69:9-12 and Isaiah 8:18.
  7. In Luke 3:5-6 John the Baptist gives a symbolic prophesy about how Jesus  will change the way that God's people interact with God.  This is actually a prophecy for the 1,000 years reign of Christ.  At the time that John the Baptist offered this prophecy, God was still offering the 1,000 years reign of Christ  to the Jews.  However, the Jews rejected Jesus  as their Christ  and King  after this prophecy was given.  Therefore, God withdrew this offer to the Jews at a later time.
  8. Matthew 3:10; Mark 1:8; Luke 3:15-17 and John 1:33 have the prophecy from John the Baptist that Jesus  shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.  Matthew and Luke also tell us: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.  Please see the Book Studies on those Gospels for more details on these prophecies.
  9. In Mark 2:19-20; Jesus  prophesied the coming future 'Church Age' and that members of the true church would fast after His ascension.
  10. In Matthew 12:29; Mark 3:27 and Luke 11:21-22, we read: No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.  This was a prophecy that Jesus  would bind  Satan and lead captivity captive  (Ephesians 4:8) when He took all of the Old Testament saints from Paradise to Heaven after His resurrection.  Matthew 27:51-53 tells us that God gave evidence that a related prophecy (dead rise) was fulfilled.
  11. In John 6:62; John 12:24; John 16:20 and John 16:22-23 and John 16:16, Jesus  prophesied the future results of His death, resurrection and ascension.
  12. Matthew 9:17; Mark 2:22 and Luke 5:37-39 we read the parable called: 'New Wine in Old Bottles'.  This parable is also a prophecy about the church after the resurrection with the new wine into old bottles  representing the saved church in Jerusalem refusing to give up religious traditions and the new wine into new bottles  representing the true doctrine of the New Covenant.  Please see the note for the sentence in the Book Study on Matthew for the explanation of this prophecy.
  13. All of Matthew 10:17-23; Matthew 24:1-25:30; Mark 13 and Luke 21:8-36 are dealing with prophecies of future events.
  14. Matthew 12:25-27 talks about 'the unforgivable sin'.  As part of that discourse, Jesus  prophesies that future Jews would judge that generation for their sin against God.
  15. Matthew 13:24-30 and Matthew 13:36-43, we read the 'Parable of the Wheat and Tares'.  This parable teaches about how Jesus Christ  will judge people in the future and how He will separate the truly saved from lost people who claim to be saved.
  16. Matthew 13:31-32; Mark 4:30-34 and Luke 13:18-19, we read the 'Parable of the Mustard Seed'.  This parable teaches about how God will completely remove the curse on the earth and restore nature to like it was before Adam and Eve sinned.  Then we also see this truth in Isaiah 11:6 and Isaiah 65:25.
  17. In Matthew 13:40, Jesus  prophesies the lost being cast into Hell as the start of His rule of this World.
  18. In Matthew 13:43, we read that: Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.  This will happen after God makes a new Heaven and new Earth.
  19. Luke 13:32 says: Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.  This prophecy was fulfilled when the Jews were driven out of Jerusalem and the Arabs were allowed to take over and create their 'holy place' on the site of the Temple.  In addition, the phrase ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord  means that no Jew will personally (ye)  see their Messiah / Christ  until they are willing to accept Jesus  as their personal King.
  20. The prophecy in Luke 17:22-31 are dealing with prophecies about future events including the return of Jesus  to Heaven and the 'Rapture' and the return of Jesus  to this Earth to rule.  These prophecies are similar, but different, from the prophecies about the great tribulation,  which were mentioned above.  The phrase the days of the Son of man  is used for 'the lifetime of Jesus  as reported in the Gospel accounts'.  The phrase the one shall be taken, and the other left  is speaking about the 'Rapture'.  The phrase in the day when the Son of man is revealed  is speaking about the return of Jesus  to this Earth to rule.

Please see the notes for these sentences within the Book Study on the Gospel of Luke for explanation, contextual considerations and links to other related Bible references.  In addition, the note for Matthew 24:42-LJC should be read for application to us according to Jesus.  Further, 1Thessalonians 5:6 tells us that this warning also applies to saved today.  The different day of,  in the Bible, have very significant different doctrinal meanings and most people, especially prophecy preachers, use the wrong definitions for these various day of.  Please also see the note for 1Thessalonians 5:2  for a list of the different day of  and their true doctrinal meanings.
  21. Matthew 16:27 says that Jesus  will return with His angels and then is the judgment seat of Christ.
  22. Matthew 12:40; Matthew 26:61; Matthew 27:40; Matthew 27:63; Mark 14:58; Mark 15:29; John 2:19; John 2:20 all tell us that Jesus  would be in the grave three days and three nights.
  23. We find the forms phrase of: sit on (the/my) right hand,  in relationship to God the Father, in: Psalms 110:1; Matthew 22:42; Mark 10:37; Mark 10:40; Mark 12:36; Luke 20:42; Luke 22:69; Acts 2:34; Hebrews 1:13.  These reference tell us that Jesus Christ  will be made ruling Lord.  The phrases King of kings  and Lord of lords  are the application of this truth when they are applied to Jesus Christ.  we find the forms of phrase: King of kings,  applied to Jesus Christ,  in: Daniel 2:37; 1Timothy 6:15; Revelation 17:14; Revelation 19:16.  We find the forms phrase of: Lord of lords  in: Psalms 136:3; 1Timothy 6:15; Revelation 17:14; Revelation 19:16.  These reference tell us that Jesus Christ  will be made ruling Lord.
  24. In Matthew 16:28; Mark 9:1 and Luke 9:27 Jesus  prophesied the experience called 'Transfiguration of Jesus Christ'.
  25. In Matthew 21:1-3; Mark 11:1-2 and Luke 19:29-30 Jesus  prophesied that the disciples would find a colt tied, whereon never man sat.  This is a fulfillment of prophecies found in Zechariah 9:9 and in Genesis 49:10.  In addition, Jesus  r5iding into Jerusalem is a fulfillment of Psalms 148 which show us how they praised Jesus  as He entered Jerusalem and the people thought that He would give then the kingdom.  In addition, we are told that the colt  was with its mother, which was an ass.
  26. In John 11:5 Jesus  prophesied that Lazarus would be raised from the dead.  We see the prophecy fulfilled later in the chapter.
  27. John 12:14-15 are links to Old Testament sentences which provide prophecy for this event and other related Old Testament sentences.  Basically, godly people rode an ass  while worldly and ungodly people rode a horse..  Please see the note for this sentence in the Book Study on the Gospel of Mark for the details which prove that this is a prophecy.  In addition, the next two sentences contain further prophecies because Jesus  knew what the man would ask and how he would respond even though Jesus  was not sure which man would ask and respond.  (Otherwise He would have given the man's name.)  Therefore, Jesus  could only say these exact things through prophecy.
  28. Luke 19:41-44 prophesies the destruction of Jerusalem and of the Temple in Jerusalem.  In addition, Matthew 24:1-2; Mark 13:1-2 and Luke 21:5-6 also prophesy the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem.
  29. In John 12:31 follows Jesus  has been glorified.  Therefore, every prophecy has been fulfilled which had to precede the crucifixion.  As a result, God will close the Old Testament and, except for the delay of the 'Church Age', while God selects a bride for Jesus,  the day of the Lord / great tribulation  will follow.  Please also see the notes for Thessalonians 5:2 and Philippians 1:6-LJC which list several references where the Bible talks about various day of  (day of the Lord  day of Christ   day of Jesus Christ  etc.).  Each of those days  have different doctrinal meanings and many people are led into error by not recognizing this difference.
  30. In John 12:32 Jesus  announced the birth of the 'Church Age' (I will draw all men unto me)  following His crucifixion (if I be lifted up from the earth).
  31. In John 12:37-41 we are told that the people rejected Jesus  in spite of all of the miracles and other evidences which he provided.  This was prophesied by Isaiah.
  32. In John 13:18 Jesus  said that the judgment of Judas would be different from the judgment of the remaining disciples.
  33. In John 13:31 Jesus  said that nothing could stop the fulfillment of the prophecy that God the Father would be glorified and that Jesus  would be glorified in God the Father.
  34. In John 14:16-18 Jesus  promised and prophesied the saved would receive the indwelling Holy Spirit.
  35. Matthew 23:34-35 says: I send  is future tense, not past tense.  The equivalent phrase in Luke (Luke 11:49-51) is: I will send.  Therefore, this is a prophecy of future events in the New Testament and not a reference to past events of the Old Testament.
  36. Matthew 26:13 and Mark 14:9 tell us: Wheresoever this gospel's shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her..  This was well before any of the New Testament was written and what is written in the new Testament is the basis for this gospel (that is) preached.
  37. Matthew 26:17-20; Mark 14:12-17 and Luke 22:7, we read about Jesus  sending disciples to prepare a room for the last Supper.  Before He sent them, He told them exactly what they would find, and the man to follow and the reaction of the owner of the house where they followed to man to.
  38. Matthew 10:17-23 and John 15:20 present the prophecy by Jesus  that true preachers of God's word would be persecuted.
  39. Jesus  prophesied that the dead would rise from their graves in John 5:28-29.  This was fulfilled in Matthew 27:51-53.  This is also when He fulfilled the prophecy of Mark 3:27.
  40. Matthew 26:17-19; Mark 14:13 and Luke 22:8 tell us that Jesus  prophesied exactly what the disciples would find when they went into the city to prepare to eat the passover.  The three (3) sentences following these references tell us that this prophecy was fulfilled exactly as Jesus  had prophesied.
  41. In John 16:2 Jesus  prophesied that the disciples would be rejected and killed by people who thought themselves to be the children of God.
  42. In John 16:7 Jesus  prophesied the coming of the Holy Ghost.
  43. In John 16:8-15 Jesus  prophesied the ministry of the Holy Ghost.
  44. In John 16:20 Jesus  prophesied of future tribulation  and the solution to it.
  45. In John 16:23 Jesus  prophesied that the disciples would be so full of wonder, joy and fear thet they won't be able to say anything.
  46. In John 16:32 Jesus  prophesied that the disciples would all be scattered.
  47. Jesus  prophesied the judgment of all men by Himself in John 5:26-30.
  48. In Matthew 8:11 and Luke 13:28-29, Jesus said that God (in response) would take the Kingdom of Heaven from the Jews and give it to Gentiles.
  49. Jesus  prophesied His return to Heaven in John 7:33 and John 13:33.  We see this prophecy fulfilled in Luke 24:51 and Acts 1:9.
  50. John 21:18Jesus  prophesied the type of death that Peter would experience.
  51. In Mark 10:39-40 Jesus  prophesied the future suffering of James and John.
  52. In Matthew 9:15; Mark 2:20 and Luke 5:35 we read: But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.  while this was an answer about fasting,  it prophesied the return of Jesus  to Heaven.
  53. In Matthew 9:16-17; Mark 2:21-22 and Luke 5:36-39 we read two parables which Jesus  gave to explain the differences between the old religion of the scribes and Pharisees  as compared to the religious attitudes that were expected in the New Testament Church.  These parables were actually prophetic of the changes which the New Testament would bring in.  Please see the note for Luke 5:36-39 for a detailed explanation of these parables and their prophetic aspects.
  54. In Matthew 23:37-39 and Luke 13:34-35 Jesus  prophesied the destruction of Jerusalem because they rejected Him and crucified Him.  That was the physical destruction and when the Jews were driven out.  In addition, this prophecy was also fulfilled with the destruction of the Temple and the Jerusalem Church.  God used the Church of Antioch to take the Gospel around the world because even the saved Jews refused to do God' will.
  55. Luke 19:11-27 gives the 'Parable of the Ten Pounds'.  It also is a prophecy of Jesus  returning to Heaven until He returns to rule and reign this World as Christ.  Included in the prophecy is the parable because only the saved people who also bring a spiritual profit to God will be allowed to return with Christ.
  56. Luke 23:27-31 tell us that many people disagreed with the Jewish religious leaders and that Jesus  gave them a prophecy of future judgment upon the Jews.

Prophecies.

General Prophecies that fit the entire New Testament:

  2. Revelation 22:6 tells us These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.  This tells us that ALL prophecy, found in the word of God,  is faithful and true.  In addition, 2Timothy 3:16-17 says: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.  That means that all of these prophecies are backed by the character of God.  Any perversion of them is an attack on the character of God.
  5. The word hereafter  tells us that the sentence it is in is giving us a prophecy of the future.  The sentence for Revelation 4:1 gives us the links to every place where this word is used in the word of God.  Please see that note to access those prophecies.

In Acts:

This was when Lord Jesus Christ  returned to Heaven  and two angels prophesied His return.
  2. Acts 3:18 tells us that Christ  had to suffer.  Please see the Gospel Significant Events Study for links to the many places where the word of God  tells us about Christ suffering.
  3. Acts 3:19-21 tells us that Jesus Christ  will come to all saved who are converted.  It also prophesies the 1,000 years rule of Christ.
  4. Acts 3:22 reminds us that Moses prophesied the 1,000 year reign of Christ.
  5. Acts 3:22 reminds us that Moses prophesied that Christ  would be a prophet like him.
  6. In Acts 3:23 we have a continuation of the prior reminder but this sentence promises destruction (going to Hell) for everyone who refuses to hear Jesus.
  7. Acts 3:25 reminds us that God promised Abraham that in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.  Since the Jews refused to take the Gospel message to the world, and considered themselves better than all other people because God chose them to be His messengers, then God had Jesus Christ  start the church to take over that job.
  8. In Acts 19:6, newly saved Jews prophesied as a sign of their true salvation after believing only in John's baptism.
  9. In Acts 20:25, Paul prophesies that he will not see the people in the church of Ephesus again.
  10. In Acts 20:29-30, Paul prophesies that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.  Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
  11. In Acts 21:11, Agabus prophesied that Paul would be bound and suffer if he went to Jerusalem.
  12. In Acts 22:14-15, Ananias prophesied, about Paul, that, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.  Please see the Minor Titles of the Son of God, in the Significant Gospel Events Study, about the title of: Just One.  In this prophecy, we read that God would use Paul to know his will  ('take the Gospel to the Gentiles'), see that Just One  ('see that our Lord Jesus Christ treats everyone the same and does not discriminate between Jews and Gentiles'), and to hear the voice of his mouth  ('Paul would receive personal commands from our Lord Jesus Christ'.  Please see elsewhere in this Study for those Bible references.)
  13. In Acts 27:9-10, Paul prophesied the destruction of the sailing ship and all of the load if they continued.  That prophecy was fulfilled in Acts 27:39-440.
  14. In Acts 27:30-31, Paul prophesied the death of others if the cowardly seamen were allowed to flee the ship and leave everyone else with no one who knew what to do.
  15. In Acts 28:25-27, Paul prophesied the final judgment, and destruction, of the Jerusalem Church, and of all Jews in general, because they refused to let their Lord  correct their doctrine.
  16. In Acts 28:28, Paul prophesied that the Gentiles would receive the Gospel.

In Romans:

  1. Romans 1:17 says: as it is written, The just shall live by faith:  This is quoting Habakkuk 2:4 where he said that the phrase came directly from God in a vision.  This is a prophecy of the changed life during the church age due to saved having the indwelling Holy Spirit to direct their life if they obey in true Biblical faith.
  2. Romans 2:16 says: In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospelJesus Christ  will be the judge of all men, both at the judgment seat of Christ  and at the great white throne.
  3. Romans 6:5-6 says: For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:  The saved who die to self (have been planted together in the likeness of his death)  will have a character and power of God (shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection)  that is like what Jesus Christ  displayed after His resurrection.
  4. Romans 6:8-9 says: Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:  This promise is not just for the here and now.  Those saved people who also are truly dead with Christ  will return to live with him  for His 1,000 years reign.  (Some saved people will not be allowed to return because they refused to serve God after being saved.).
  5. Romans 7:24-25 says: who shall deliver me from the body of this death?  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.:  God the Father, working through Jesus Christ our Lord  will give us a new body that does not have the corruption of sin and, therefore, does not have the influence to cause us to sin.
  6. Romans 8:18 says: For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.:  The truly saved who suffer for the service to Jesus Christ  will receive glory,  in Heaven, which is far beyond and suffering here in this life.
  7. Romans 8:19-22 - The curse shall be completely removed from all of creation for the 1,000 years reign of Christ.
  8. Romans 15:12 quotes Isaiah 11:1-10 to tell us that he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.  This has an application for the saved during the 'Church Age' but the full interpretation of it will not happen until the 1,000 years reign of Christ.
  9. Romans 9:27-29 says: Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved: For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.  And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.:  This prophecy will be fulfilled when Jesus Christ  returns to rule this physical world.  Only a remnant shall be saved.  All Jews living at that time will accept Jesus Christ  as their personal Lord  and King  when He returns.  All who will not do so will be killed during the great tribulation.
  10. Romans 9:32-33 says: As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.:  The Jews stumbled  at the position and doctrine of Jesus Christ.  And, many people of today also do the same.  However, in this 'Church Age', saved people who truly put their belief on  the person Who is Jesus Christ,  are not ashamed,  in this present time, and will not be ashamed  at the judgment seat of Christ.  Thus, we see this prophecy fulfilled today even if some people miss out on the promised blessing because they refuse to fulfilled the requirement to receive the blessing.
  11. Romans 11:26-27: This sentence is quoting Isaiah 59:20 combined with the truth of Psalms 65:3.  The things that this sentence is talking about will happen with the return of the Lord Jesus Christ  to end the Great Tribulation.  This place in Romans, and other places in the Bible, say that all Jews living on the Earth at that time will accept Him as their Messiah  and so all Israel shall be saved.  The note for this sentence, in the Book Study, has many more related Old Testament references to this prophecy.

In 1Corinthians:

  1. 1Corinthians 15:51-52 prophesies the 'Rapture'.
  2. 1Corinthians 15:54-57,  prophesies the end of death.

In 2Corinthians

  1. In 2Corinthians 4:13-14, we read: Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
  2. In 2Corinthians 11:15, we read: Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.  This sentence is speaking about the ministers of Satan.  However, it also applies to all followers of Satan and of the doctrines of devils  (1Timothy 4:1).  Basically, it prophesies that the end  and their judgment shall be according to their works.  That is: destruction to all who support lies, especially lies which send others to hell.

In Ephesians:

In 1Timothy:

  1. In 1Timothy 6:13-16,  we read: Which in his (our Lord Jesus Christ) times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords.  This is speaking (prophesying)  about the 1,000 years reign of Christ.

In 2Timothy:

  1. Please see the note for 2Timothy 2:11-13 under Promises.  Those promises are also prophecies.
  2. 2Timothy 4:1-2 says: who (the Lord Jesus Christ) who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom.  This means that the judgment seat of Christ  (Romans 14:10; 2Corinthians 5:10) will happen after the 'Rapture' and before the return of the Lord Jesus Christ  to rule and reign this world.
  3. 2Timothy 4:1-2 says: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.  This means that the judgment seat of Christ  is when people will receive their crowns.  It also means that anyone who receives a crown  will return with Christ  to rule and reign this world for 1,000 years.

In 1Thessalonians:

  1. 1Thessalonians 3:4 says: For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.  Thus, we see a prophecy given and fulfilled.
  2. 1Thessalonians 3:12-13 includes the phrase: at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.  This is telling us that Jesus Christ  may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father  at the time of His return.  Our returning with Him will remove any doubt about if our current life is acceptable to God.
  3. 1Thessalonians 4:15 says: For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  This means that the saved but dead (asleep)  people will go up in the 'Rapture' (shall not prevent)  before saved and living people.
  4. 1Thessalonians 4:16-17 tells us about the 'Rapture'.
  5. 1Thessalonians 5:1 tells us that saved people who are serving God will understand the truth about prophecy while others who be led into doctrinal error.  In addition, the Chapter Note for 1Thessalonians 5 explains many things about understanding prophecy God's way so that you believe truth and not doctrinal error.
  6. 1Thessalonians 5:3 tells us For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

In 2Thessalonians:

  1. 2Thessalonians 1:3-10 tells us about the Lord Jesus Christ  returning to rule and reign for 1,000 years.  It also has several other prophecies about what He will do at that time.  .Please see the Message called: Manifest Token of the Righteous Judgment of God about the prophecies of this sentence.
  2. 2Thessalonians 2:1-7 tells us about the return of our Lord Jesus Christ  to rule and reign for 1,000 years.  Please use the link to access the related notes in the Book Study for more details on these prophecies.
  3. 2Thessalonians 2:11-12 tells us that the people who had a chance to hear the Gospel, and rejected that chance, will never get saved even though they remain alive until our Lord Jesus Christ  returns to this world.
  4. 2Thessalonians 2:13-14 tells us that saved people who truly devote their current life to the service of God, and the Gospel, shall obtain of the glory of our Lord Jesus Chris.  Please use the link to access the related note in the Book Study for more details on this prophecy.

In Hebrews:

  1. Hebrews 11:39-40 says: And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.  This means that that saved people in Heaven have not yet received their everlasting rewards and will not receive them until all saved, of the 'Church Age', are also in Heaven.  Since rewards are given out at the judgment seat of Christ,  our sentence indicates that it will not happen until after the 'Rapture'.
  2. Hebrews 12:26 says: Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.  This is a prophecy of the day of the Lord,  which is also called the great tribulation.
  3. James 5:7-8 tell us that the coming of the Lord draweth nigh  and says it twice.

In 1Peter:

  1. 1Peter 2:11-12 says:  that people who persecuted saved and serving people will glorify God in the day of visitation  (their judgment day) because they saw God working through the lives of the saved and serving.  As lost people, they spoke against you as evildoers,  instead of accepting the truth.  However, at their judgment they will have to admit the truth
  2. 1Peter 4:7 says:  the end of all things is at hand,  which means: 'The 'Rapture' can happen at any time.  There is nothing left which must precede it'.
  3. 1Peter 4:12-13 says:  ye may be glad also with exceeding joy  Christ  returns to rule this world for 1,000 years.
  4. 1Peter 5:4 tells us:  And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.  This means: 'When the 'Rapture' happens (when the chief Shepherd shall appear),  people will personally (ye)  (receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away)'.  The context is that Peter is only writing to the saved who are also serving and not to the saved but carnal.

In 2Peter:

  1. 2Peter 1:13-15 says that our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed  Peter that he would soon die before it happened.  He did this so that Peter would write the epistle of 2Peter.
  2. 2Peter 1:16-21 promises that We have also a more sure word of prophecy,  and that prophecy  is more sure  than Peter's personal experience on the 'Mount of Transfiguration'.  And, this is true because the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
  3. 2Peter 2 promises that false prophets and false teachers  will be judged (their damnation slumbereth no).
  4. 2Peter 3:5-7 promises that the current Earth will remain until the great white throne judgment.
  5. 2Peter 3:10-12 promises that But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up...all these things shall be dissolved...the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat.  This is when God brings judgment upon everyone who rejects Him and His right to rule them.
  6. 2Peter 3:13 says: Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

In Jude:

  1. Jude 1:14-15 says: And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.  This is a prophecy of the return of Christ  and the judgment that He will bring against all the people and armies which follow the beast  of Revelation.

In Revelation

  1. Revelation 1:1-2 says: the entire book of Revelation is prophecy.  However, Revelation 10:4 says: And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.  Thus, there are future events which were not revealed.  In spite of what many people claim, this book is not about many revelations but is about a single revelation that Jesus Christ  is Lord  of all.  If a future event did hot reveal His Lordship,  then John was told to not write it down.  Therefore, all future events which are revealed in this book are revealed for the purpose of letting men know that our Lord Jesus Christ  is Lord  of all.
  2. It should be obvious that there are far more detail prophecies than what are listed below.  This Study only provides a summary of the prophecies found within each chapter.  The reader can use the links provided to go the Detailed Studies for each chapter if they desire to know the details of a particular chapter.
  3. Revelation 1:7 says: Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.  This is not the Rapture because, at that time, every eye shall see  only dead bodied dropping to the ground as the souls and spirits of the truly saved abandon these corrupt bodies.  No, this prophecy is about the 'Second Coming'.  While most of the things reported in this book are in a time sequence, not all are.  Thus, we have a summary statement then John returns to earlier events in time to provide more detains.  Please also see the Prophecy Section, of the Significant Gospel Events Study, for more Bible references and links to this event.
  4. Revelation 1:8 tells us that our Lord Jesus Christ  shall return and that He will return as the Almighty.  This sentence also gives us several secondary titles for our Lord Jesus Christ,  which tell us more about His character.
  5. Revelation 1:10-11 is not a prophecy but it tells us the command, which was given to John, which resulted in this book of prophecy.
  6. Revelation 1:13-14 is a reference of the vision described in Daniel 7:9.
  7. Revelation 2:5 says: Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.  In this sentence, the word candlestick  is applied to the church.  However, it can also be applied to ministries, churches and individuals.  Our Lord Jesus Christ  did not have John write this only to that church but also had it preserved unto today to provide a warning to all churches which acted in a similar manner.  The church of Ephesus left their first love  because they mixed doctrinal error with truth.  England was given an empire which spanned the world, when they took the Gospel to the world, but then lost it because they also left their first love  because they mixed doctrinal error with truth.  Today, America is the mightiest nation on Earth because they took the Gospel to the world.  However, they also have left their first love  because they mixed doctrinal error with truth.  Thus, we should not be surprised when God brings judgment upon America.  In addition, we have see this same judgment applied to ministries, churches and individuals through history since the start of the 'Church Age'.
  8. Revelation 3:10 says: that the purpose of the great tribulation  is: to try them that dwell upon the earth.  Since the physical life of truly saved people, from the instant of their salvation until death, fulfills the same purpose, there is no need for them to go through the great tribulation.
  9. Revelation 6:10 says: And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?  There is a disagreement about the interpretation of this sentence.  The Treasury of Scripture Knowledge says: 'This seal seems a prediction of the terrible persecution of the church under Dioclesian and Maximian, from A.D. 270 to 304, which lasted longer, and was far more bloody, than any or all by which it was preceded, whence it was called "the era of the martyrs."'.  Some claim that it is an application for the great tribulation.  However, the next sentence makes it clear that this sentence does not apply to people who come out of the great tribulation.
  10. Revelation 7:15-17 says: Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.  They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.  For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.  There is a disagreement about the application of this sentence.  Some claim that these promises are to all saved as soon as they get to Heaven.  However, the prior sentence says: These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.  And, our quote starts with the word Therefore .  As a result, these promises are limited to the people whom John identified within the context, which are martyrs and 'tribulation saints'.  Please see the Book Study for more about these people as these particular promises are limited to them.
  11. Several places in Revelation, starting in Revelation 4:9, we read that the four beastsangels2wenty four elders  and saints  give glory, honor, praise, blessings  and more to God.  That is what the saved are prophesied to experience when they get to Heaven.
  12. Revelation 5 tells us about the book,  which is the ownership of the Earth, and only the Lamb  was found worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof.  This is when the Son of God  starts to take ownership of Earth from Satan.  The results of His doing so will be as John heard: the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands...very creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.  And the four beasts said, Amen.  And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshiped him that liveth for ever and ever.
  13. Revelation 5:13 seems to be the fulfillment of Isaiah 45:23, Romans 14:11 and Philippians 2:10, although it is commonly taught that those verses won't be fulfilled until later.
  14. Revelation 6 gives us all of the prophecies of what happens when the Lamb  opens the seals of the book  mentioned in the prior chapter.
  15. Revelation 7 tells us about angels sealing  an hundred and forty and four thousand  'virgin male Jews' to be witnesses for God during the great tribulation.  Be careful about what you believe about this chapter because there is a lot of doctrines from devils perverting the truth of this chapter.  This chapter also tells us the reward given to those hundred and forty and four thousand  and there are liars claiming that these rewards can be 'claimed' by other people including people who devote their lives to serving sin and devils.
  16. Revelation 8 tells us that when he (the Lamb) had opened the seventh seal  that the first four of seven trumpets  were sounded by seven angels  and the chapter also gives the prophecies related to those trumpets.
  17. Revelation 9 tells us the prophecies resulting from the next two of the seven trumpets  being sounded by seven angels.  This is when the worst devils are literally loosed from Hell and allowed to rampage on Earth.  In addition, Revelation 9:6 says: And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
  18. Revelation 10 tells us the prophecies resulting from the last of the seven trumpets  being sounded by seven angels.  This is when the seven thunders utter their voices.  We are told that the result will be: the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.  We are not told the direct results of the seven thunders.  However, we are told that John was commanded to Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth...and eat it up.  The result of John doing that is prophecies about other things which are given in the remaining chapters of Revelation.
  19. Revelation 11 tells us about God's two witnesses,  who will be prophets.  There are differing opinions as to who they will be but most agree that they will be prophets whom God to Heaven alive but will be returned to Earth for this ministry and so that they, also, will experience physical death.  Our chapter includes the reaction in heaven and on Earth when their ministry is completed.
  20. Revelation 12 tells us about a woman,  who, symbolically, is the mother of God's people, the Jews.  However, because of the symbolism, some people claim that she represents someone else.  In addition, our chapter tells us about a dragon,  who is symbolic for Satan.  Our chapter tells us that he is thrown out of Heaven and fights against God's angels and loses, and he tries to kill the women and all of her children, who are the Jews.
  21. Revelation 12:5 is a prophecy about our Lord Jesus Christ  ruling this Earth with a rod of iron.
  22. Revelation 12:6 and Revelation 12:14 are prophecies about God protecting the Jews in the wilderness  during the great tribulation.
  23. Revelation 12:6 is a prophecy about Satan being cast out of Heaven and into the earth  and that he will never be allowed into Heaven again.
  24. Revelation 12:15 and Revelation 12:16 are prophecies about Satan doing a miracle to try and kill all of the Jews who were fleeing and God doing a counter miracle to protect them.
  25. Revelation 13 tells us about the beast  which had seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns.  He blasphemy against Godmade war with the saints, and overcame them  and received worship from people whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.  Our chapter also tells us about a second beast  and how he gave life to an image which he made everyone worship.  This is where we read: Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six  Please see the note for Matthew 10:30 about the word number.  The New Testament definition for this word is: 'Used to count things.  Also used symbolically in the Bible'.  The note from The Morrish Bible Dictionary is extensive and includes 'Numbers are used as Symbols'.  Be very careful about the use of This information.  Much doctrinal error and division has been caused in God's church by preachers claiming that the symbolical meaning of numbers provided the single interpretation of the word of God  and that the symbolic meaning actually corrected the word of GodAll symbolic meanings provide the many applications, must be understood within the context where they are found, and can vary from one application to another.  Be careful to not use these symbols beyond their God-given purpose.
  26. Revelation 14 tells us the Gospel preached by the angels after the hundred forty and four thousand  died and went to Heaven.  Their message included death and eternal torment to all who worshiped the beast and his image  or who received his mark in their forehead or hand.
  27. Revelation 14 tells us .
  28. Revelation 15 tells us about people worshipping God in the temple of Heaven after they died during the great tribulation  because they had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name.  And, while they worshiped. seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God  came out of the temple to spread the plagues while people in Heaven worshiped God.
  29. Revelation 15:4 gives a prophecy of everyone truly fearing the Lord  during the 1,000 years reign of Christ.
  30. Revelation 16 tells us about the seven angels...pouring out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.  Here we read that God sends the message of: It is done.  Everything was prepared for the great battle at Armageddon.
  31. Revelation 16:17 tells us that God said: It is done.  We still have the war and the throwing of devils in prison and the 'Sheep and Goat Judgment'.  However, at this point, God is declaring that all of these things will happen and that there is nothing that Satan, nor any other being, can do to stop God from fulfilling His prophecies exactly as He said he would do.
  32. Revelation 17 tells us about the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters.  Many claim that it is the Roman Catholic Church.  It is actually the One World Religion, which the Roman Catholic Church is part of.  It rides the beast...which hath the seven heads and ten horns.  That beast  is the devil controlled government.  Here we see the uniting of government and religion.  Our chapter also tells us: These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.  One devil motivated lie is that all saved will return with Christ  to rule and reign with Him.  Our sentence tells us that only those saved people whom God judges to have all three attributed of; called, and chosen, and faithful  will be allowed to return with Christ.
  33. Revelation 18 tells us about the judgment of spiritual Babylon  and the reaction of lost and carnal men to the destruction of it.  Our chapter ends by telling us why it was destroyed when it says: in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
  34. Revelation 19 starts with telling us about everyone in Heaven worshipping God for the victory over Satan and his armies.  Then we read about the marriage of the Lamb  and His bride.  After that, we read about the Son of God  and what he is like as He returns to Earth and conquers.  We are told that: the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him...were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.  Then we are told that: the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. .  One important thing to pay attention to is that people in Heaven worshiped God for finishing the war even before He returned and did it.  This is true Biblical faith.  We must worship God for accomplishing whatever he will do even before He starts to act.
  35. Revelation 20 tells us about the 1,000 years reign of Christ.  It starts with the judgment of Satan.  He was bound a thousand years...in the bottomless pit.  After that time, he was loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.  These are the descendants of those people who were allowed to go into the 1,000 year reign of Christ  in their corrupt human bodies.  The end result of this addition rebellion by Satan will be: the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.  After that, we have the great white throne  judgment when all lost people will be cast into the lake of fireThis is the second death.  But, before that, each will be judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.  That judgment is to determine their level of torment in the lake of fire.  Our chapter ends with: And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
  36. Revelation 21 tells us about the new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.  It also tells us that God shall wipe away all tears from their (the saved) eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.  Be careful because there are several very popular lies which perverts this truth.  God cannot wipe away all tears from their eyes  if the saved in Heaven do not have tears.  The most popular lie claims: 'no tears in heaven and that all who profess to be saved will be in eternal bliss as soon as they die'.  Our chapter makes it clear that that is a promise for the new heaven and a new earth,  which does not happen until after the saved, of the 'Church Age', have been in Heaven for at least 1,007 years.  Our chapter also identifies all who will be cast into the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone.  Then it describes the new holy Jerusalem.
  37. Revelation 22 tells us about living in the new holy Jerusalem.  It also tells us that our Lord Jesus Christ  says: Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book...and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.  After that, we have an invitation and a final warning of: For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.  Our book ends with: Even so, come, Lord Jesus.  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.  Amen.  As written earlier in this Book Study, it is a single revelation  (not many) and it reveals that our Lord Jesus Christ  is Lord of lords and King of kings.
