Lord of Lords

Deuteronomy 10:17-18: For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward: He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.
Psalms 136:3: O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever..

As I understand it, Thai people understand about spirits.  Supposedly, one of the local religions claims that there are over 100 million gods.  I do not dispute this claim.  Many places in Thailand have god houses.  There is much effort and expense made to appease some god so that the god will not hurt the people and so that it might protect the people from other gods.  That is, these gods are not loving and kind but demand sacrifice and service under threat of harm.

I said that I agree because the Bible agrees with those claims about many spirits who claim to be gods.  However, the Bible says that these gods are not true gods, because there is a true God who is more powerful than all of them put together.  That is why our reference from the Bible said that He is: God of gods.  The Bible calls these other spirits devils.  The Bible warns us that they claim many things which are not true and they do so because they want people to worship and serve them.  However, when people worship and serve these lesser spirits, they are not learning about the one true God and are not worshipping and serving the one true God.

Now, I understand that many Thai people do not know about the Bible.  It is the only book in the world that has detailed prophecy.  In addition, all fulfilled prophecies have been fulfilled exactly as they were stated by the prophet.

Prophecy is telling what will happen in the future.  Yes, there are books like what Nostradamus wrote, but his prophecies are general and abstract and can be interpreted many different ways.  That is not true prophecy because it is not an exact statement of what will happen in the future.  However, the Bible has specific prophecies such as the statement that God's Redeemer would be born from the linage of king David and be born in Bethlehem of Judea and there is only one such city in all of the world.

The one true God gave this prophecy and dared all of the devils to work together and try to stop Him from fulfilling His prophecy.  He gave them over 400 years to try.  They tried to kill all of the descendants of king David, and once killed all of them but one, but they could not kill all of them.  So, the devils made all of the descendants of king David move far away from Bethlehem of Judea.  They figured that a baby can't be born in a city that's a long way away from where the parents live, especially if everyone walks.  They also corrupted all of the government people so that they would not listen to the loving Creator God.  However, when The Creator God wanted His Redeemer born, he made the corrupt king decide to add another tax.  The government always wants more money.  He also had the king demand that everyone go to the city of their ancestors to be taxed so that no one could avoid the tax.  That is how the mother was in Bethlehem of Judea and God's Redeemer was born exactly where God said that He would be born.

There are hundreds of these prophecies that are very specific and that we can verify were written hundreds of years before they were fulfilled and, yet, all of the prophecies were fulfilled exactly as written.  Since there is no other book like it anywhere in the world, we can know that it was written by the most powerful God that exists because no other god has been able to stop him from doing what He said that He would do.  Imagine that you see two people playing chess.  One of them tells the other which piece of his the first will take next, and then he does exactly what he said.  Now imagine that this happens all through the game.  Now imagine that they play several games and the exact same thing happens every time.  Yet, the person who keeps losing also keeps insisting that they are the better player.  If that happens, it should be obvious that the constant loser is lying when they insist that they are the better player.

Now, if you were betting on the game, you would be foolish to keep betting on the loud-mouthed loser.  Well, you are betting where your everlasting soul ends up by choosing what god you serve.  The God of the Bible has proven that He is the most powerful God that exists by all of the detailed prophecies that He has given and fulfilled in spite of all of the other gods trying to stop Him.  He has also written in His Bible that we each have a free will and He will not take away our free will.  However, He also wrote that, at some time in the future, He will put all of these other gods into a lake of fire and we can be sure that that prophecy will be fulfilled just like all of the other prophecies have been fulfilled.  While that is bad news for the other gods, the bad news for us is that He also promised that every person will be put with the god that they serve in this world.  If you truly serve the God of the Bible, then after you die your spirit will go to Heaven, which is the home of the God of the Bible.  However, everyone who spends their life serving these other gods will end up in the lake of fire along with their gods.

In addition, we can know that the most powerful God kept all other so-called gods from writing a similar book because no other so-called holy book has all of these fulfilled prophecies.  Only the Bible has proof that it was written by the most powerful being that exists and in it we are warned that we will end up in a lake of fire to burn forever if we don't do what the God of the Bible tells us to do.

Not only does the Bible tells us prophecy, but it also tells us how to live and says that we will be judged, after we die, based upon how well we obey the laws of God.  Now, lots of books and people tell us how to live but they do not promise an eternity in a lake of fire for disobedience.  Nor do they provide hundreds of fulfilled prophecies as evidence that the author can, and will, fulfill every promise of judgment.  In addition, the Bible tells us For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?  (Romans 3:3).  Simply put, your unbelief does not eliminate the judgment of God.  Further, your belief in a lie by someone else does not end the judgment of God.

One example is the claim that there is nothing after physical death.  However, there are thousands of people from all around the world who have testified about being out of the body and then returned.  Physical death is the life force leaving the body permanently.  People who claim that there is nothing after the life force leaves the body cannot have any experience to back their claims or they would have to testify that the life force, also called the spirit, continues to exist after leaving the body.  Since there are thousands with the experience who testify that physical death is not the end of existence, we need to conclude that this claim is a lie.

There are other false beliefs that people hold onto but we will skip those and continue with what the Bible says.  As I already pointed out, it has hundreds of fulfilled prophecies, and no conflicts nor errors, to prove that it comes from the most powerful and wisest God that exists.  No other source which claims to tell us about spiritual things has the evidence to back it that the Bible has.

If we return to our original Bible references, we see that our first reference says: For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward: He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.

By saying that the God of the Bible is God of gods,  it is saying that the God of the Bible has at least as much power over other gods as any god has over men.  As men fear gods and do things to worship and appease them so that the gods will not hurt them, so is the God of the Bible that much more powerful than any god of this world.  I have been in the hospital dying 5 times and the doctors said that they could do nothing to save me, but I am still here.  The most powerful god in this world tried to kill me but the God of the Bible kept me alive and healed me in ways that doctors said was physically and medically impossible.  They did not accept the God of the Bible as their God but testified that I had undeniable multiple miracles because I have a personal relationship with the God of the Bible.  He has proven in my personal life to be more powerful than any other spirit which claims to be a god.

Now, not only does our reference tell us that He is the God of gods  but it also says that He is Lord of lords.  A lord makes and enforces laws.  The Bible says that the God of the Bible will put all of the other spirits, which claim to be gods, into the lake of fire because they violate His laws.  The Bible also says that the God of the Bible will put all people who serve those gods into the lake of fire with their gods.  He has allowed these spirits to remain here, and tell their lies, to test people and see which spirit they will worship and serve.  Only those people who accept the God of the Bible as their personal Lord will go to His spirit home, called Heaven, when their spirit leaves their body.  Romans 10:13 says: For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  The saved  are the people who will go to His spirit home, called Heaven, when their spirit leaves their body.  Anyone who refuses to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Spirit Lord will be put into the lake of fire to suffer forever.

Our second reference, from the start of the message, said: O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.  Mercy is not getting the punishment that we deserve.  The Bible says: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God  in Romans 3:23.  It also says: Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned  in Romans 5:12.  Only a fool would deny that everyone dies.  These references in the Bible tell us that death is because everyone sins, which is breaking God's law.  The punishment for breaking God's law is eternity in the lake of fire.  However, if we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord, then God gives us mercy and takes away the punishment of eternity in the lake of fire.  In addition, as our reference says, God gives us that mercy forever.  Therefore, once we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord, we do not have to worry about ending up in the lake of fire if we mess up later because, while He will deal with us, His mercy will keep us out of the lake of fire.

Now, what I've said so far is for the people who have not yet accepted Jesus as their personal Lord.  At the end Pastor Jireh John Nono will tell you how to do that and be assured that you avoid an eternity in the lake of fire.  However, for a short time, I want to speak to those people who have already accepted Jesus as their personal Lord.

Revelation 17:14 says: These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.  The people who are going to make war with Jesus Christ are all of the people who have rejected Him as their personal Lord and have chosen to serve other gods.  Please notice that our reference says: and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings.  Like all other prophecies in the Bible which have been fulfilled just as God said they would be, so also will this prophecy be fulfilled.  Jesus Christ will defeat all who oppose His rule and cast them into Hell until the time when His rule ends and this world is destroyed so that God can make a new Earth.

Our reference says that he is Lord of lords.  A lord makes laws and judges the obedience of others and punishes those who disobey him.  Jesu Christ will make laws that the whole Earth must obey including anyone else who has any power or authority.  Revelation 19:15 says: And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.  Anyone, including those in authority, will be killed and sent to stay in the flames if they disobey or challenge His authority in any way.  He will not rule just one country but all of the Earth.

Now, in addition to Jesus Christ destroying all of His enemies and taking over rule of this world, our reference also tells us that and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.  These are the people who will be returning to this Earth with Jesus Christ to help Him rule this world.  Some will rule areas that are now considered to be a country.  Others will rule states and others cities.  However, not all people who go to Heaven will return to rule.  Notice that our reference says that the people who return are called, and chosen, and faithfulMatthew 22:14 says: For many are called, but few are chosen.  This is at the end of a parable about the rewards that the saved will receive in Heaven and that parable makes it clear that some people who make it to Heaven are not chosen  because they did not work in God's field while they were in this life.  Only saved people who produce spiritual results for God's kingdom are chosen.  In the parables of the talents and pounds, the people who produced no spiritual profit for God were in Heaven but lost everything.  They were eternal paupers and those parables, combined with other Bible references, let us know that they will not return with Christ to rule this world.  The bottom line is: if you are truly saved and want to return for the 1,000 years reign of Christ then get busy and produce a spiritual profit for God while you still have time in this life.

Our final Bible reference is 1Timothy 6:12-15, which says: Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.  I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords.

As all saved should know, Jesus Christ is returning to this world some day to rule it.  He will have people with Him who have accepted Him as Lord and they will help to rule this world under Him.  However, not all saved will return to do that.  Our reference tells us that He will return as Lord of lords,  just like our prior reference did.  However, here we have the additional reference to His keeping to the truth before Pontius Pilate,  even though He knew that it would lead to His death.  Philippians 2:8 says: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.  Therefore, He was obedient even knowing the horrible type of death that He faced.  With that in mind, we see that our Bible reference tells us to follow His example and Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life' That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We are to obey the commandments of the Bible with the knowledge that each saved person will be personally judged for how well they personally obeyed the commandments of the Bible.  Our personal reward or punishment is a direct result of our personal obedience.

Pastor Jireh John will now give an invitation for people to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and God.  He will also invite the saved people to ask their Lord what he thinks about their personal obedience.  What we believe doesn't matter.  All that matters is what the Lord of lords  thinks because His judgment if final for every person.
