Miracles.

  1. Please also see the Prophecy Fulfilled Section, which includes some miracles.
  2. A miracle is when something happens, in this physical reality, which is outside of the laws of nature.  Angels and devils are spiritual beings which do not have a natural physical body.  That is one reason why devils can possess people.  However, the main point is that, since they do not have a natural physical body, their appearance in this physical reality is outside of the laws of nature.  We find reports of angels appearing, in this physical reality, (and in the New Testament outside of the Gospels) in: Acts 2:10-11; Acts 5:19; Acts 6:15; Acts 7:30; Acts 7:35; Acts 7:38; Acts 7:53; Acts 8:26; Acts 10:3; Acts 10:7; Acts 10:22; Acts 11:13; Acts 12:7; Acts 12:8; Acts 12:9; Acts 12:10; Acts 12:11; Acts 12:15; Acts 12:23; Acts 22:6; Acts 22:9; Acts 23:8; Acts 23:12-13; Acts 23:9; Acts 27:23; Romans 8:38; 1Corinthians 4:9; 1Corinthians 6:3; 1Corinthians 11:10; 1Corinthians 13:1; 2Corinthians 11:14; Galatians 1:8; Galatians 3:19; Galatians 4:14; Colossians 2:18; 2Thessalonians 1:7; 1Timothy 3:16; 1Timothy 5:21; Hebrews 1:4; Hebrews 1:5; Hebrews 1:6; Hebrews 1:7; Hebrews 1:13; Hebrews 2:2; Hebrews 2:5; Hebrews 2:7; Hebrews 2:9; Hebrews 2:16; Hebrews 12:22; Hebrews 13:2; 1Peter 1:12; 1Peter 3:22; 2Peter 2:4; 2Peter 2:11; Jude 1:6; Jude 1:6; Revelation 1:1; Revelation 1:20; Revelation 2:1; Revelation 2:8; Revelation 2:12; Revelation 2:18; Revelation 3:1; Revelation 3:5; Revelation 3:7; Revelation 3:14; Revelation 5:2; Revelation 5:11; Revelation 7:1; Revelation 7:2; Revelation 7:11; Revelation 8:2; Revelation 8:3; Revelation 8:4; Revelation 8:5; Revelation 8:6; Revelation 8:7; Revelation 8:8; Revelation 8:10; Revelation 8:12; Revelation 8:13; Revelation 9:1; Revelation 9:11; Revelation 9:13; Revelation 9:15; Revelation 10:1; Revelation 10:5; Revelation 10:7; Revelation 10:8; Revelation 10:9; Revelation 10:10; Revelation 11:1; Revelation 11:11; Revelation 11:15; Revelation 12:7; Revelation 12:9; Revelation 14:6; Revelation 14:8; Revelation 14:9-10; Revelation 14:15; Revelation 14:17; Revelation 14:19; Revelation 15:1; Revelation 15:6; Revelation 15:7; Revelation 15:8; Revelation 16:1; Revelation 16:3; Revelation 16:5; Revelation 16:8; Revelation 16:10; Revelation 16:12; Revelation 16:17; Revelation 17:1; Revelation 17:7; Revelation 18:1; Revelation 18:21; Revelation 19:17; Revelation 20:1; Revelation 21:9; Revelation 21:12; Revelation 21:17; Revelation 22:6; Revelation 22:8; Revelation 22:16.
  3. A vision  is a direct communication from God or a communication directly from God but given through an angel.  Both are outside of the laws of the physical reality.  Please see the note for Luke 1:22 for links to every place in the New Testament where a vision  is reported.
  4. Please note that the miracles, which are recorded within the gospels, are listed in the Table Of Miracles in the Gospels document.  That document also has the links to those events within the appropriate book studies and the notes within the Book Studies provide the details and related links for each miracle.
  5. Tongues  were used in the early church to verify true salvation.  This was before the New Testament was written.  Tongues  Were human languages and the claims about 'angel tongues' are lies from devils.  Tongues  are no longer used by God for that purpose since He used men to write His word.  We read about Tongues  in: Mark 7:32-35; Mark 16:17; Luke 1:17-20, Luke 1:62-65; Acts 2:4-11; Acts 10:45-47; Acts 19:4-6; 1Corinthians 12:7-11; 1Corinthians 14:1-40; Revelation 10:11.
  6. Ascension:  Acts 1:1-11.
  7. Giving of Holy Ghost:  Acts 2:1-4.
  8. The actions on Pentecost (Acts 2:2-43) could have been produced only by the supernatural power of God.  Please see the Detailed Notes for more of an explanation.
    1. Acts 2:2 tells us that suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind.  Not that there was a wind but only the sound.  And, it filled all the house where they (the church) were sitting  so that devout men, out of every nation under heaven  came to see what was happening and stayed for the preaching.  God caused a giant preaching service with no advance notice
    2. Acts 2:4 tells us that And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.  This was definitely a supernatural act by God.  we see tongues used as a sign of salvation in: Acts 2:4-11; 10:45-47; 19:4-6; 1Corinthians 12:7-11; 14:1-40; Revelation 10:11.
    3. Acts 2:6 tells us that Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.  Even when we have a true spiritual gift of tongues,  different people in the same audience don't hear in his own language.
    4. Acts 2:5 tells us that there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.  This is a very rare occurrence.  Yes, cities can have many immigrants, but rarely are there devout men, out of every nation under heaven.  This is one of the times when the Bible reports God sending His Gospel to all nations on the Earth.
    5. Acts 2:16-21 tells us that prophecies which were partially fulfilled then and part will be fulfilled in the future and part will be for both times.  Specifically, the prophecy tells about signs  which are the result of miracles by God.  Please see the note in the Book Study for more explanation of this truth.
  9. Promise of wonders in Heaven above, and signs in the earth beneathActs 2:19; Joel 2:30-31.
  10. Acts 3:1-10 tells us about the lame man being healed by Peter and John.  Since he was lame from his mother's womb,  and he was carried daily (and laid) at the gate of the temple,  everybody who regularly went to the temple knew about his condition.  Thus, this miracle caused the people to gather to hear the Gospel.
  11. Acts 4:8-10 tells us the Peter told the Jewish rulers that the miracle, reported in the prior chapter, was done by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  He is the One who enables true Godly miracles during the 'Church Age'.
  12. House shaken in response to prayer:  Acts 4:31.
  13. In Acts 4:16, the ruling council of the Jews acknowledged that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it..
  14. Acts 4:22 tells us that the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.
  15. Acts 5:1-10 tell us about God's Holy Spirit  causing Ananias, and Sapphira his wife, to each drop dead because they lied to the Holy Ghost.
  16. Acts 5:12-16 tell us about the apostles doing many miracles of healing and casting out devils so that people came to the city and laid people in the street so that they would be healed if just the shadow of the apostles touched them.
  17. Acts 5:17-26 tell us about the Jewish re3ligious leaders arresting the apostles and putting them in their hold over night.  But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said, Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.
  18. Peter let out of prison:  Acts 5:18-23; 12:7-11.
  19. Acts 6:8 tell us And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people.  That is why he was arrested and then preached to the Jewish Council.  And, when they were convicted of their own sin, they murdered Stephen rather than truly Biblically repenting.
  20. Acts 7:30-31 is part of the message from Stephen to the Jewish Council.  Much of his message is from Exodus.  In these sentences, Stephen relates how God's angel  spoke from the burning bush to Moses.
  21. Acts 7:35 tells us God's angel  sent Moses to be a ruler and a deliverer  the Jews.
  22. Acts 7:36 tells us that Stephen reported miracles which were done through Moses in the old Testament.  Please see the Table Of Miracles in the Old Testament for more about those miracles.
  23. Acts 7:38-40 tells us that Stephen reminded the Jewish Council that God's angel  spoke to Moses but the Jews rebelled against God and Moses.
  24. Vision of Stephen:  Acts 7:54-60.
  25. Acts 8:6-7 says: And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.  For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.  This Philip was the deacon and evangelist.
  26. Philip carried away by the Spirit:  Acts 8:39.
  27. Acts 9:1-9 tell us that Paul meets the Lord and struck blind.  And, Acts 9:3-7 says: And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.  there is more in the account but that is the main quote for the miracle.  Please see the note for Luke 3:21-22 for links to the many places where we read about a voice from Heaven.
  28. Acts 9:8 tells us that Saul was blinded even though his being knocked from his horse would not have caused that result.  In addition, Acts 9:18 says: And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith.  These scales  were what blinded him.  (That was another miracle as nothing touched his eyes to make the scales  fall off.)  Our Lord Jesus Christ  put them on his eyes when He knocked Saul from his horse.  Even though our Lord Jesus Christ  did not appear physically nor do anything physically, from heaven He made those scales  to cover Saul's eyes.
  29. Acts 9:11-12 promises a miracle to Saul.  Some people would count receiving a vision  from God as a miracle and others would not.  However, the promise to Saul that he would receive his sight  is very definitely a promise of a miracle.
  30. Acts 9:32-35 tell us about Peter doing a miracle of healing in Lydda and many people getting saved as a result.
  31. Acts 9:36-43 tell us about Peter raising a dead church member in Joppa and many people getting saved as a result.
  32. Peter raises Dorcas from dead:  Acts 9:39-42.
  33. Vision of Cornelius :  Acts 10:1-5, 30-32.
  34. God spoke in an audible voice from Heaven:  Acts 9:4-12; Acts 11:9; 2Peter 1:18; Revelation 10:4; Revelation 10:8; Revelation 11:12; Revelation 14:2; Revelation 14:13; Revelation 16:17; Revelation 18:4.
  35. Vision of Peter:  Acts 10:9-22.  Peter reports the vision to the church elders in Acts 11:4-6.
  36. Acts 10:34-35 tell us about Peter receiving a revelation from God that Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.  That is when God saved the first Gentile and the saved Jews had been insisting that someone had to be a Jew in order to be saved.  This was in spite of the command of the 'Great Commission' and in spite of all the Old Testament verses which said that God was God to all men.
  37. In: Acts 2:10-11 we read that an angel  told the first church members to return to the upper room after the accession of Jesus Christ.
  38. In: Acts 5:19 we read a that an angel  freed Peter and John from prison.
  39. In: Acts 7:30, Acts 7:35, Acts 7:38 we read a reminder that an angel  appeared to Moses in the wilderness of mount Sina.
  40. In: Acts 7:53 we read that an angels  delivered the Mosaic law to God's people.
  41. In: Acts 8:26 we read that an angel  told Philip to go to where he would meet the Etheopian eunuch.
  42. In Acts 9:3-6; Acts 18:9-10; Acts 22:7-10; Acts 22:17-21 and Acts 23:11; Acts 26:14-18, we are told that our Lord Jesus Christ  gave Paul a very clear and specific message.
  43. In Acts 9:1-8 and Acts 22:4-11 and Acts 26:12-18, Paul is reported to give his testimony of salvation.
  44. In Acts 9:12-16, we are told that our Lord Jesus Christ  gave Ananias a very clear and specific message about Paul.
  45. In: Acts 10:3 tells us that God sent an angel  to Cornelius to tell him what to do in order to be saved.
  46. In: Acts 10:7 we read that Corneilus obeyed the angel  immediately because of the promise of salvation.
  47. In Acts 10:13-15 and Acts 11:7-0, we are told that our Lord Jesus Christ  gave Peter a very clear and specific message about salvation of the Gentiles.
  48. In: Acts 10:22 we read that an angel  told Corneilus what to do in order to be saved.
  49. In Acts 11:13, we see an angel  sent to a lost man.  God deals with all men who seek Him and not just the religious.
  50. In Acts 12:7, we see an angel  sent to free Peter from prison because he supported doctrinal truth and because church members, who also supported doctrinal truth, prayed all night for Peter to be freed.  In the account we see several other miracles such as the angel providing a light and the four soldiers not noticing and the chains falling off the arms of Peter.
  51. In Acts 12:8, the angel  told Peter what to do.  Acts 12:9 tells us that Peter thought that he was dreaming and failed to realize that what was happening was real.  Then, Acts 12:10 tells us that the angel  left Peter and that was when he realized that what had happened was real.

  55. Paul makes Barjesus blind:  Acts 13:7-12.
  56. In Acts 13:9-11, we see Paul curse a false
  57. Paul healed a crippled man at Lystra:  Acts 14:8-18.

  61. The Macedonian vision of Paul is reported in: Acts 16:9-10.
  62. Paul casts out devil in Acts 16:16-18.
  63. In Acts 16:26 we read that: suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.
  64. In Acts 16:27 we read that: And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.  Think about that.  Many of the prisoners faces harsh punishment and even possible death.  All were free, their bands off, the prison doors open, and yet God kept them there.
  65. Paul raises Eutychus to life.  Some will argue that he was just knocked out.  This is not something to argue about.  However, our prior sentence tells us that he was taken up dead.  and our sentence tells us that Paul embraced him,  and that is what we see many places where someone other than Jesus  raises someone from the dead:  Acts 20:9-12.
  66. Jesus Christ appears to Paul:  Acts 9:1-9; 22:6-11; 23:11; 27:23-24; 1Corinthians 9:1; 15:8Galatians 1:15-18.
  67. In Acts 22:9 The people traveling with Paul saw a light and heard a noise but did not hear the voice.  God can deliver a message to one person within a group and keep the others from understanding and even from realizing that a message was delivered.
  68. Acts 23:12-13 tells us that God used Ananias to restore sight to Paul.
  69. Paul not hurt by bite from viper:  Acts 28:1-6

  79. Revelation 12:15 tells us that the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.  Here we see Satan create a miraculous flood to try and kill all Jews who serve God, and fled at God's command, during the great tribulation.
  80. Revelation 12:16 tells us that And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.  Here we see that God creates a miraculous split in the surface of the Earth to foil Satan's plan.

Promises:  Please also look at the section on Prophecies since they are promises for the future.

James 4:3 says: Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.  From this sentence we see that our motivations and attitudes are critical to receiving the answer to our prayers.  Likewise, our motivations and attitudes affect when and how we receive the promises from God.

In Hebrews 3:14, we are told: we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end.  Then, in Hebrews 4:1, we are told: Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.  In those two chapters, we are reminded that God's people did not receive the promises of God, and were actually killed because of their refusal to believe and to act in true Biblical faith.  Our refusal to act in true Biblical faith,  after we have heard the promise of God, effectively proves that we believe God is a liar and that His promises are not reliable.  This is because the promises are so much greater than the requirements to receive the promises that it can not be that we believe that the requirements are too great in comparison to the promise.  Either we failed to truly understand the promise, or we refused to believe the promise.  And, God treats a refusal to believe the promise as an accusation against Him and His faithfulness.

Most people who express interest in this book want to avoid the curses in it and / or receive the blessings found in it but they are not willing to do that phrase.  Lots of people want to 'claim' promises made in the Bible while ignoring God's requirements for receiving those promises.  Such attitudes come from people believing doctrines of devils  (1Timothy 4:1).

    In Acts

    1. In Acts 7:5 we are reminded that God promised the 'Promised Land' to the seed  of Abraham.
    2. In Acts 7:17-18 we are told that God led the Jews out of the slavery of Egypt wnen the time of the promise drew nigh.

    In 1Corinthians

    1. In 1Corinthians 1:1-3,  Grace and peace are offered to people who obey the doctrine of this epistle.
    2. In 1Corinthians 1:4-8,  we are promised That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge  and God shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ  if the testimony of Christ is confirmed in you.
    3. In 1Corinthians 1:21,  God promises to save them that believe  by the foolishness of preaching.
    4. In 1Corinthians 1:30-31,  we are promised that we can receive wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification  if we personally are in Christ Jesus.
    5. In 1Corinthians 9:16-17,  the preacher is promised woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!  For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.  When God calls us to a task and gives us the spiritual gift to accomplish it, we are warned that woe is unto  if we waste God's gift and do not accomplish God's purpose.
    6. In 1Corinthians 9:23,  we are promised to be partaker thereof (in the blessings of the gospel) with  the people that we lead to salvation.
    7. In 1Corinthians 9:24,  we are promised a prize  if we run God's race properly and run to win.
    8. In 1Corinthians 9:26-27,  we are promised to be a castaway  if we do not keep under (our) body, and bring it into subjection  (Control the lusts of the flesh).
    9. In 1Corinthians 10:1-11,  we are promised judgment and destruction  from God if we do the sins named there.
    10. In 1Corinthians 10:13, we are promised: There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.  However, in order to receive this promise, we must fulfill the requirement in the next sentence (flee from idolatry).
    11. In 1Corinthians 11:3-11,  the woman is promised protection by God if she stays in subjection to the God-given authority over her and dresses in a way which makes that subjection clear to others.
    12. In 1Corinthians 11:23-26,  says that we do shew the Lord's death till he come  when the church has the Lord's Supper.
    13. In 1Corinthians 11:27-32,  we are promised judgment from God which includes sickness and death if we take the Lord's Supper  unworthily.
    14. In 1Corinthians 15:24,  we are promised that Christ  will put down all rebellion and end death before the great white throne judgment.
    15. In 1Corinthians 15:42-44,  all saved are promised a spiritual body that is in: glory, power and incorruption.
    16. In 1Corinthians 15:58,  all saved are promised that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

    In 2Corinthians

    1. In 2Corinthians 1:1-2, grace and peace are offered to people who accept and obey the doctrine of this epistle.
    2. In 2Corinthians 1:1-2, we read: Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.  This means that if we are not willing to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God,  then God has no reason to comfort us.
    3. In 2Corinthians 1:5, we read: as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.  This means that our own consolation by Christ  is directly proportional to how much we are willing to have the sufferings of Christ abound in us.
    4. In 2Corinthians 1:7, we read: as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.  However, we must remain faithful during the sufferings  if we wish to also receive the consolation.
    5. In 2Corinthians 2:10-11, we read that forgiving others who truly repent prevents Satan from getting an advantage of us.
    6. In 2Corinthians 5:2-4, we are promised a new spiritual body, which is immortal, when we get to Heaven.
    7. In 2Corinthians 5:17, we read: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  This means that this promise is a conditional position for saved people.  Some saved people will be in Christ  and some will not be in Christ.  Those saved who are not in Christ  do not have the promises of this sentence ( old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new).
    8. In 2Corinthians 5:18-19, we read: And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.  The word reconcile  means 'To conciliate anew; to call back into union and friendship the affections which have been alienated; to restore to friendship or favor after estrangement; as, to reconcile men or parties that have been at variance'.  When we sin, we become 'at variance with God' and we lose our 'union and friendship with God'.  God hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ  when He initially saved us by Jesus  and when He changed us to stop our sinning Christ  and when God showed us how to live in the flesh using the power of the Holy Spirit by Jesus.  (Please also see the Doctrinal Study called: What Did Jesus Do?).
    9. In 2Corinthians 6:17-18, we read: Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.  Please see the note for this sentence, in the Book Study, for more details about this promise.  In addition, 2Corinthians 7:1 adds the requirement to cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
    10. In 2Corinthians 7:6-7 and 2Corinthians 7:13, tell us that Godly leaders are comforted, even in the midst of personal trials, by news of their people getting right with God.
    11. In 2Corinthians 7:10, we read: godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.  Thus, we read about two different results depending on the type of source of any sorrow.
    12. In 2Corinthians 8:1-3, tells us that when we give ourselves selves to the Lord,  we will receive the grace of God  and that he will work through our lives to do things that are beyond our power.
    13. In 2Corinthians 8:7-8, we read that our willingness to give to support missions will be used by God to prove the sincerity of your love.
    14. In 2Corinthians 8:10, we read that it is expedient for us  to do what we promised God and the church that we would do.
    15. In 2Corinthians 9:6, we read 'The law of Sowing and Reaping'.
    16. In 2Corinthians 9:7, we read that God loveth a cheerful giver.
    17. In 2Corinthians 9:8-11, we read that: God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things  and that God can multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness  and that God can make us enriched in every thing to all bountifulness  when we are supporting missions and keeping our promises even when it causes us to suffer.
    18. In 2Corinthians 9:12-14, we read that missionaries who receive our support will glorify God for your professed subjection into the gospel of Christ,  and it will be: abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God,  and it will cause them to pray for you,  and it will cause them to long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.
    19. 2Corinthians 13:11-14 give the final blessings of this epistle.  Paul wishes them to receive these blessings but they must submit, and obey, the commandments of this epistle in order to receive these blessings.

    In Galatians

    1. Galatians 1:1-5:  Grace and peace are offered to people who accept and obey the doctrine of this epistle.
    2. Galatians 2:15-16:  We are justified  by the faith of Jesus Christ  when we have believed in Jesus Christ.
    3. Galatians 3:14 promises God's Holy Spirit  to people who go to God through faith..
    4. Galatians 3:16, with the next sentence, make it clear that this particular promise was made to Christ  and not to all of the Jews.  We need to be careful so that we don't 'claim' a promise made to someone else and not made to us.
    5. Galatians 3:17 tells us that neither the coming, nor going, of the Mosaic Law could disannul (the promise), that it should make the promise of none effect.  This sentence proves that the claim that God's way of salvation changed with different ages.  That doctrinal error claims that people were saved by keeping the Mosaic Law and not by believing the promise.
    6. Galatians 3:18 tells us that the law  can not have any effect upon a promise.
    7. Galatians 3:19 tells us that the law  was added because of sin and that it was only intended to last until Christ  came.
    8. Galatians 3:21 tells us that the law  can not be against the promises.
    9. Galatians 3:22 tells us that everyone has been declared to be a sinner that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
    10. Galatians 3:29 tells us we are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise  if we personally belong to Christ.
    11. Galatians 4:7 we are an heir of God through Christ.  That is, we must maintain our ongoing relationship with God that is through Christ  if we want to receive everlasting heavenly rewards (be an heir).
    12. Galatians 4:23 is part of an allegory where Paul is explaining that Abraham's son who came by the law was bound while the son who came by the promise was free.
    13. Galatians 4:28 is part of an allegory where Paul is explaining that Abraham's son who came by the law was bound while the son who came by the promise was free.
    14. Galatians 6:16 promises peace and mercy  upon the people who obey the epistle and upon the spiritually mature (the Israel of God).

In Ephesians

  1. In Ephesians 1:1-2, Grace and peace  are promised to saved people who keep the doctrine of this epistle.
  2. In Ephesians 1:13-14, we are promised eternal security (sealed with that holy Spirit of promise)  because the word sealed  means: 'legally marked as belonging to God' and no person nor devil can break God's seal.
  3. In Ephesians 1:13-14, we have the earnest of our inheritance.  The word earnest  means: 'down payment'.  It is said to be like an engagement ring which promises marriage.  What we are promised in Heaven is far more that what we have now with the indwelling Holy Spirit.
  4. In Ephesians 1:13-14, we read: until the redemption of the purchased possession.  Our redemption  is not complete until we receive our new incorruptible body.  Please see the Message called: Body, Soul and Spirit Salvation for more details.
  5. In Ephesians 2:11-13, we read that we were lost and had no hope, and without God in the world.  But Christ  changed that.  And, in order to continue to receive the promises which come through Christ,  we must do our part to maintain the ongoing personal relationship.
  6. In Ephesians 3:6, we are promised That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel.  Please see the Message called The Mystery of God, the Father and Christ for more details.
  7. In Ephesians 3:14-19, we read then Paul asked God to grant several things to those saved people who let Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith.  The saved people who do not allow this to happen can not expect to receive the rest of the blessings which are named in this sentence.  With that in mind, we need to realize that our next sentence starts with the word Now,  which means that it must also be considered for contextual considerations.  Specifically, it tells us what is due to God the Father  as a result of Him granting this request.
  8. In Ephesians 4:3-5, we read that we might receive the adoption of sons.  The word might  means that this is conditional.  We must accept the character of God the Father for us to fulfill the requirement to be a true son.  In addition, our next sentence says: And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.  I've heard this preached but, frankly, very few can claim that it helps them in their life because they have not truly received the character of God.
  9. In Ephesians 4:7, we read that Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.  The problem is that people believe that all saved will receive an inheritance  after they get to Heaven simply because they are saved.  However, the Bible, including this sentence, makes it clear that any inheritance  received is separate from going to Heaven.  And, our sentence makes it clear that this requires us becoming a son  ('receiving the character of God the Father').  In addition, our sentence makes it clear that this requires us go through Christ  ('enter into the ongoing personal relationship that is in Christ and doing our part to remain in that relationship').
  10. In Ephesians 4:8, we read that Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.  This means that the only way that we receive anything from God is to believe His promise  and do what God requires in order for us to receive the promise.
  11. In Ephesians 6:2, we are read: Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)).  The promise was given in Exodus 20:12 and Deuteronomy 5:16.  The promise was that thy days may be long upon the land  and that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee.  The attitude that children have towards their parents becomes the basis of their attitude towards God.  A continual disrespect towards God is a good way to die early.
  12. In Ephesians 6:23, we are read: Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ..  This is not offered to lost people nor to the carnal.  If people refuse to join God's side in the spiritual battle, or refuse to be active in the battle, then God has no reason to offer them peace.
  13. In Ephesians 6:23, we are read: Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity.  The requirements to receive this grace  should be obvious to everyone.  People must do the action of love,  that action must be directed at the right person (our Lord Jesus Christ)  and be done with the right attitude (sincerity).

In Philippians

In 1:1-2, grace...and peace.  God did this for several reasons, which Paul names within this epistle.  Those reasons include:

As a result of these things, they were given promises for their future which included promises from God and requirements that they had to meet in order to receive those promises.  These included:

In addition to the above, which covers the entire epistle, we have specific promises in the following references.
  1. Philippians 1:7 says that ye all are partakers of my grace  because they each personally (ye)  participated in the ministry that Paul was pastor of.
  2. Philippians 1:7-11 says that they would have increased knowledge and in all judgment; That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ  because they were participating in the ministry through love.  In addition, they were also promised to be filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ.
  3. Philippians 1:19 promises greater everlasting rewards (this shall turn to my salvation)  when we rejoice that Christ is preached  due to our own persecution.
  4. Philippians 1:21 promises that death is gain  for the saved who truly devote their life to the service of God.
  5. Philippians 2:1-2 tells us that we can have consolation in Christ, comfort of love, fellowship of the Spirit, and / or bowels and mercies  if we personally be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
  6. Philippians 2:5-9 tells us that God also hath highly exalted him (Christ Jesus)  because of His mind  and His obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.  Likewise, we can expect everlasting rewards for our own obedience unto death.
  7. Philippians 2:13 promises it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure  when we are obedient.  When God works through our lives, results are produced which the flesh can not produce.
  8. Philippians 2:14-16 promises that we personally will shine as lights in the world  when we do the rest of this sentence.
  9. Philippians 2:17-18 says that we can personally joy, and rejoice  in the sacrifice and service of the faith  of people who participate in the ministry with us.
  10. Philippians 3:7-11 says that we can receive the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus our Lord  if we first suffer the loss of all (earthly) things, and do count them but dung.
  11. Philippians 3:8-11 promises that we may know him (Christ Jesus our Lord), and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death  if we first give up our own righteousness, which is of the law, (and receive) that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.  In addition, if we do this, then we might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
  12. Philippians 3:20-21 promises that we the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ  shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body  after we get to Heaven.
  13. Philippians 4:7 promises And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus  if we obey the commandments given earlier in the chapter.  In addition, we must stay in our ongoing personal relationship that is through Christ Jesus  in order to receive this promise.
  14. Philippians 4:9 promises the God of peace shall be with you  if we do those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me (Paul).
  15. Philippians 4:13 says: I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.  However, what many people ignore is that this promise is through Christ  and requires us to recognize that it is that relationship (whichstrengtheneth me.  We must enter into the ongoing personal relationship with God which the Bible calls Christ  and remain in it (through Christ)  in order to receive the strength  to do what God wants us to do.
  16. Philippians 4:19 says: But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.  This result came from their service to God in their personal lives and also their making sacrifices to support mission efforts.  Notice that this supply  is by Christ Jesus.  They must continue to maintain their relationship with Christ Jesus  in order for Him to continue to supply all your need.
  17. Philippians 4:22 Tells us the promised blessings for obeying the doctrine of this epistle.

  6. Colossians 1:9-17 says that we are delivered us from the power of darkness  when we are translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son  (receive the character of Jesus Christ).  That is also how we receive redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins  after our initial salvation.

In 1Timothy

  1. In 1Timothy 1:1-2Grace, mercy and peace  are offered to people who obey the doctrine of this epistle.  Please note that peace  is added for the 'Pastoral Epistles'.
  2. In 1Timothy 2:15,  we read: Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.  This is a promise to women which is explained in the note for the Book Study.
  3. In 1Timothy 4:6,  the pastor is told his requirement to be a good minister of Jesus Christ.
  4. In 1Timothy 4:8,  we are told: godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
  5. In 1Timothy 4:15,  tells us that the preacher will receive spiritual profit  when he meditates upon  the commandments of the epistle and devotes his life to doing them.

In 2Timothy

  1. 2Timothy 1:1-2 says that Grace, mercy and peace are offered to people who obey the doctrine of this epistle.  Please note that peace  is added for the 'Pastoral Epistles' and is not in most other epistles.
  2. 2Timothy 1:1-2 says: according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus.  This means that God promised spiritual life  to all who are in a proper relationship to Christ Jesus.  In John 10:10, Jesus  said: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly  That is: 'initial salvation (life)  and increased spiritual life (more abundantly)  through spiritual growth'.  Since our phrase uses the title of Christ Jesus,  it is telling us that a saved person must spiritually mature in order to have the life more abundantly.  And, since our phrase uses the word according  the amount of life  promised by God is 'in harmony' with how much each saved person builds their personal relationship with Christ Jesus.
  3. 2Timothy 1:7 says: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  The word: For,  which starts this sentence, means: 'Here's why the prior sentence is true'.  That is: we are to stir up the gift of God, which is in thee  because God has given us this type of spirit  and we will have the blessings of this sentence only if we obey the prior sentence.
  4. 2Timothy 1:12 says that we can have confidence in suffering because: I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.  Lots of people like to 'claim' this promise but if it does not give then confidence while suffering then the promise is not really true for them personally.
  5. 2Timothy 1:12 says that we can Hold fast the form of sound words  if we stay in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus  and we personally keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us  those spiritual gifts.  We can not keep sound wordsfaith and love  in our own power but can only keep them if we stay in (our relationship with) Christ Jesus  and do so by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us.
  6. 2Timothy 1:16-18 says that we can expect The Lord (to) give mercy unto our house (family),  if we are not ashamed of a preacher who is suffering for preaching the truth of the Gospel and we are actively helping him.  The last sentence adds that we can expect mercy  at the judgment seat of Christ  (of the Lord in that day)  if we do these things.
  7. 2Timothy 2:5 says that we will be crowned  only if we strive lawfully  and if we strive for masteries.
  8. 2Timothy 2:7 says that the Lord (will) give thee understanding in all things  if we truly consider  the doctrine of the word of God.
  9. 2Timothy 2:8-9 says that the word of God is not bound  no matter what people do the children of God.  That is: no man can stop the word of God  from working spiritually neither can they destroy it.
  10. 2Timothy 2:11-13 says:
    1. if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him,  which means: 'if we stop responding to the temptations and pleasures of this physical life then we will return with Christ  for His 1,000 years reign'.
    2. If we suffer, we shall also reign with him,  which means: 'Our position (reign)  in the 1,000 years reign of Christ  is directly related to how much we suffer  for Him in this life'.
    3. if we deny him, he also will deny us,  which means: 'Christ  will not be our advocate  when Satan accuses us of sin if we refuse to be baptized or deny him  in another way.  In addition, He will deny us,  returning with Him to reign, if we deny him  (refuse to be His witness) in this physical life'.
    4. If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself,  which means: 'Jesus Christ is faithful and will keep all of His promises to all who truly believe.  Our not getting the promises of God is 100% our fault and no blame can be laid to Jesus Christ'.
  11. 2Timothy 2:15 says that if we do not Study to shew thyself approved unto God...rightly dividing the word of truth,  then God will make us ashamed.  Please see the note for this sentence, in the Book Study, for more details on this truth
  12. 2Timothy 2:16 says that profane and vain babblings...will increase unto more ungodliness.  Therefore, we are to shun  them.
  13. 2Timothy 2:17-18 says that doctrinal error will overthrow the faith of some.  Therefore, we are to stand against doctrinal error.
  14. 2Timothy : says that we will be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work  if we purge  ourselves from doctrinal error.
  15. 2Timothy 2:23 says that foolish and unlearned questions...do gender strifes.  Therefore, we are to avoid  them.
  16. 2Timothy 2:24-26 says that saved people who believe doctrinal error may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil  if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth.
  17. 2Timothy 3:1-5 says that we are living in perilous times  and that these times are defined by: men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.  We are told to deal with these people by: from such turn away.
  18. 2Timothy 3:6-7 says that that the men, of the prior note, are: Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.  That Is: 'They have lots of religious education and degrees but do not receive the character of God, nor the power of God, nor the changed life from God'.
  19. 2Timothy 3:10-11 promises that the Lord (shall) deliver  anyone who lives their life like Paul did in spite of persecutions and afflictions.  And, the next sentence continues with: Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.  Therefore, people who claim to be saved but never suffer persecution  either are not truly saved or they do not live godly in Christ Jesus.
  20. 2Timothy 3:13 says that evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.  Therefore, we need to avoid evil men and seducers  if we truly want to avoid being deceived.
  21. 2Timothy 3:16-17 says that All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.  Therefore, we must believe and obey All scripture  if we wish to be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
  22. 2Timothy 4:3-5 says that the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.  In spite of this truth, we are instructed to: watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
  23. 2Timothy 4:7-8 says that there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.  Therefore, we must live our life expecting, at any minute, to die and be judged for how we serve God (love his appearing)  if we truly wish to receive a crown of righteousness.
  24. 2Timothy 4:11 says that that we can go from being unprofitable  to being profitable to me for the ministry  if we spiritually mature.
  25. 2Timothy 4:14-15 says that the Lord (will) reward  us if we do much evil  to the ministry or to the man of God.
  26. 2Timothy 4:16-17 says that the Lord  will stand by  us, and strengthen  us, and deliver (us) out of the mouth of the lion,  and will deliver (us) from every evil work,  and will preserve (us) unto his heavenly kingdom,  even if no other person does so, if we devote our life to the service of God like Paul did.
  27. 2Timothy 4:21-22 says: The Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit  and Grace be with you,  if we are obeying the commandments of this epistle.

In 1Thessalonians

  1. In 1Thessalonians 1:1,  Grace and peace are offered to people who obey the doctrine of this epistle.
  2. 1Thessalonians 1:5,  promises assurance  to people who obey the doctrine of Godly preachers who display the power of God in their life.
  3. 1Thessalonians 1:6-7 promises that God will use saved people as ensamples  if they are truly trying to serve God's kingdom.
  4. 1Thessalonians 1:8 promises that God will use saved people as soul-winners and missionaries if they are truly trying to serve God's kingdom.
  5. 1Thessalonians 1:9-10 promises that Jesus  will deliver us from the wrath to come  if we have truly turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; And to wait for his Son from heaven  and if we are truly trying to serve God's kingdom.
  6. 1Thessalonians 2:3-4 promises that God trieth our hearts.  God does this so that we will know how much we truly trust God and so that we will understand how spiritually mature we truly are.
  7. 1Thessalonians 2:7-12 promises that the true man of God  will care about the true children of God.  This is because it is really God working through the true man of God.
  8. 1Thessalonians 2:13 promises that God will effectually worketh also in you that believe  if we truly received the word of God  and receive it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God.
  9. 1Thessalonians 2:19-20 promises that the people whom we lead to salvation and whom we disciple will be our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing...in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming.
  10. 1Thessalonians 3:1-3 promises that God will send a man of God  to comfort you concerning your faith  at the time of afflictions,  if we are saved and truly trying to serve God's kingdom.
  11. 1Thessalonians 3:6-8 promises that if ye stand fast in the Lord  then our testimony will give comfort over you in all our (Pastor, people who love us) affliction and distress by your faith.
  12. 1Thessalonians 3:12-13 promises that God will make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men  and will stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God  and will make us part of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints,  if we are truly like the people described in 1Thessalonians 3.
  13. 1Thessalonians 4:1 tells us that we will walk and please God (and will) abound more and more  if we obey the commandments given to us by the Lord Jesus.
  14. 1Thessalonians 4:3-7 tells us that we will holy  if we do the will of God.
  15. 1Thessalonians 4:10-12 tells us that we may have lack of nothing  if we are increasing in true brotherly love.
  16. 1Thessalonians 4:13-5:11 gives us 'the prophecy of God'.  In that section, Paul explains that saved people who are truly serving God, and His kingdom, will understand the truth of prophecy.  However, lost and carnal people will be led into doctrinal error.
  17. 1Thessalonians 5:8 tells us that we will obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ  ('receive the life more abundantly  which is added after our initial salvation') and will not receive God's wrath,  if we are truly serving God's kingdom.  In addition, we should live together with him  ('go to Heaven'), whether we wake ('go up in the 'Rapture'') or sleep ('die physically'),  and this promise is to all saved.  However, this promise is only a true comfort to saved people who are serving God's kingdom because the amount of everlasting rewards, in Heaven, is proportional to ho much of a spiritual profit we bring to God.
  18. 1Thessalonians 5:11 tells us that prophecy is to be used to comfort yourselves together, and edify one another.  However, people who believe doctrinal error about future prophecies do not receive these things but are constantly worried that they believed a lie.
  19. 1Thessalonians 5:23 says: And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly,  but the word And  adds this to all of the commands which came before it.  Therefore, this promise is only to saved people who are obeying the preceding commands.

  21. 1Thessalonians 5:27-28 promises: the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you, Amen,  but the requirement is that we believe the prophecies of this epistle and that we obey the commandments of this epistle.

In 2Thessalonians

  1. In 2Thessalonians 1:1-2,  Grace and peace are offered to people who obey the doctrine of this epistle.  They were not offered mercy,  like several epistles do, because they were not doing wrong.  They were enduring persecutions and tribulations  and needed grace and peace  in order to continue doing what they were doing.
  2. In 2Thessalonians 1:5,  we are told that: ye (each and every one of you personally) may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God  because for which ye also suffer.  Saved people who are not willing to suffer  for the Gospel are not given this promise.
  3. In 2Thessalonians 1:6,  we are told that: God will recompense tribulation to them that trouble you  because for which ye also suffer.  Saved people who are not willing to suffer  for the Gospel are not given this promise.
  4. In 2Thessalonians 1:7,  we are told that they were promised God's rest  because they devoted their lives to the service of God.  Please see the note for Hebrews 4:8-LJC, which has a good discussion about God's rest  for the saved and obedient saint.  Please also see the note for Hebrews 3:6-LJC, which tells us God's requirements which we must meet before we can enter God's rest..
  5. In 2Thessalonians 1:12,  we are told that God will give us grace  according  to how much the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in us.
  6. 2Thessalonians 2:16-17 tells us Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.  This was written top people who spread the Gospel in spite of having to endure persecutions and tribulations.
  7. 2Thessalonians 3:3 tells us But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.  This promise is given to people who have true Biblical faith  which is: 'action based upon belief in the word of God'.
  8. 2Thessalonians 3:5 tells us the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.  This promise is given to people who personally both do and will do the things which we command you.
  9. 2Thessalonians 3:16 says: Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means.  The Lord be with you all.  This promise is given to people devote their current life to the service of God, like the people in this church did.

In Titus

  1. In Titus 1:1-4,  grace, mercy and peace are offered to people who obey the doctrine of this epistle.
  2. In Titus 1:1-4,  God promised eternal life  to those people who come to God in God's way which is specified in God-directed preaching.
  3. In Titus 2:11,  we read: For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.  Therefore, no one can claim that God never gave him a chance to be saved.
  4. In Titus 3:7,  we read that we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life  after we have been justified by his grace.  However, that means that we must do what God requires in order to be justified by his grace  before we receive an eternal inheritance.
  5. Titus 3:15  adds a second blessing to people who obey the doctrine of this epistle.

In Philemon

  1. In Philemon 1:1-3,  Grace and peace are offered to people who obey the doctrine of this epistle.
  2. In Philemon 1:24,  adds a second blessing to people who obey the doctrine of this epistle.

In Hebrews

  1. In Hebrews 1, we read that God made promises to His Son  and then kept those promises.  A theme that runs through Hebrews is that is we act like God's Son,  and obey in obedience like God's Son  did, then we will also receive the promises from God just like God's Son  received His promises.  And, Hebrews 2:1 starts the chapter with: Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.  Thus, the author is drawing this exact lesson following his completing chapter 1.
  2. In Hebrews 2:2-4, we are promised punishment if we neglect so great salvation.  That is: 'If we refuse the changed life that is the purpose of God saving us'.
  3. Hebrews 2:18 says: For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.  That is: 'Jesus  is able, and willing, to help people who suffer because He also experienced suffering'.  Thus, we need to go to Him, in true Biblical faith,  if we want help with our suffering in this world.
  4. In Hebrews 3:5-6, we are promised to be the house of Christ  if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
  5. In Hebrews 3:7-12, we are promised the blessings of Christ  if ye will hear his voice  and Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation  and we depart (not) from the living God.
  6. In Hebrews 3:13, we are promised that we will not be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin  if we exhort one another daily.
  7. In Hebrews 3:14-15, we are promised made partakers of Christ  if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end.
  8. In Hebrews 3:17-19, we are promised to be God's wrath and that we will not receive the promises of God if we provoke and grieve  God and if we abide in unbelief.
  9. In Hebrews 4:1-3, we are promised to enter God's rest  if we believe.  And, we are warned to fear  if we not believe  and that we shall enter into my (God's) rest.
  10. In Hebrews 4:6-7, we are warned that the promise was given by God, then removed when God's people acted in unbelief,  them restored for us today.  And, we are warned to get the promise by acting to day  because God can remove the promise again.
  11. In Hebrews 4:6-7, we are promised to enter God's rest  if we personally will hear his voice  and if we harden not your heart.
  12. Hebrews 4:10-11 says: For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.  This means: 'We must stop worrying about our own physical needs and stop trying to provide for them (ceased from his own works)'.  We must concentrate on serving God (Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest)  with the expectation that God will provide for our physical needs.
  13. In Hebrews 4:16, we are promised that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need  if we come boldly unto the throne of grace.  (The context makes it clear that we must have the right attitude of heart in order to come boldly unto the throne of grace).
  14. In Hebrews 5:6, we are told that Christ  is a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.  .  This means that He has a different priesthood from any other type of priest.  In particular, Hebrews 5:7-10 tells us that: he became the author of eternal salvation.  On other type of priest can offer this and it is proven by the fact that only Jesus Christ  conquered death.
  15. In Hebrews 6:1-2, we are promised that we can go on unto perfection (spiritual maturity)  if we leave the principles of the doctrine of Christ  ('understand the true doctrine of what this sentence names' because we have by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil  and we are skilful in the word of righteousness.
  16. Hebrews 6:4-6 says: For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
  17. In Hebrews 6:10, we are promised God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name  if we have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
  18. In Hebrews 6:15, says that: after he (Abraham) had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.  The context makes it clear that we can expect the same.  That is: after we patiently endured, we will obtain the promise.  This is based upon Hebrews 6:17 saying: Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel.  No one can change nor stop a true promise from God.
  19. Hebrews 6:17-20 says: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil  because even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
  20. In Hebrews 7:22, we are promised that: Jesus made a surety of a better testament.  That is, we have a better testament  because Jesus  is our High Priest.
  21. In Hebrews 7:24 tells us that: Jesus  continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.  That is, Jesus  will always represent us, before God the Father, the same way as He does now.  And, Hebrews 7:25 tells us that: Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.  That is: we have assurance of everlasting salvation because of Jesus.
  22. In Hebrews 8:6, says that Jesus Christ  hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.  If we do our part to maintain our ongoing personal relationship with Jesus Christ,  then we can expect to receive better promises  because of Hos position and because of our relationship with Him.
  23. In Hebrews 8:12, promises that God will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more  under the new covenant.
  24. In Hebrews 9:13-14, we are promised that the blood of Christ  will purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.  Please note that the blood of Christ  is only applied to the saved.  The blood of Jesus  is used for initial salvation.  In addition, our sentence says that the blood of Christ will...purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.  (Please note that the word purge  is defined as: 'To cleanse or purify by separating and carrying off whatever is impure, heterogeneous, foreign or superfluous; as, to purge the body by evacuation. To clear from guilt or moral defilement; as, to purge one of guilt or crime; to purge away sin'.  This does not happen at our initial salvation.)  Thus, the saved are promised a change life as a result of the blood of Christ...purging your conscience from dead works to serve the living God.
  25. Hebrews 9:24-26 says: For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.  This means that He is our direct representative and not an indirect representative to God.
  26. Hebrews 9:27-28 says: Christ unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.  We must look for him.
  27. Hebrews 10:10 says: we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.  He died so that we can be sanctified  ('separated from fleshly and worldly sin and unto the service of God').
  28. Hebrews 10:14 says that them that are sanctified  are perfected for ever.  This promise is only given to them that are sanctified.
  29. In Hebrews 10:23-31, we are promised a judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries  if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth.
  30. Hebrews 10:30 says: For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord.  Many people make the mistake of thinking that this is not a promise or that it is less reliable than other promises because they have been taught a lie about what the fear of the Lord  truly means.
  31. Hebrews 10:36 says: ye might receive the promise  after ye have done the will of God  if we have patience.
  32. Hebrews 11:6 promises that he (God) is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.  Therefore, we must be diligent  as we seek him (God)  if we want to receive the reward.
  33. In Hebrews 12:6, we are promised that: whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receivethHebrews 12:8 adds: But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
  34. In Hebrews 12:11, we are promised the peaceable fruit of righteousness  when we are exercised with chastening  by God as His sons.
  35. In Hebrews 12:16, we read: But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased  This means: 'Obeying this command will hurt us personally, which is what the word sacrifice  means'.  However, we are also told that God is well pleased  when we do these things and, when God is well pleased,  we receive everlasting spiritual rewards.

  4. James 1:22-24 says: But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.  For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.  This is an application of 'The Law of Sowing and Reaping'
  5. In James 1:12, we are promised the crown of life  if we endureth temptation.  Please see the detail note for an explanation of the different crowns  given in Heaven.  Please see the Chapter Summary for contextual considerations.
  6. In James 1:17, we are promised Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above.  However, God is Who gives us true understanding  on how to get things which are good.  And, we have to accept and use that understanding  from God in order to receive things which are good.  Otherwise, people do not receive this promise even when they think they have fulfilled God's requirements to receive good.  (One of the main sources of this error is people using the wrong definition for the word good).
  7. In James 1:21, we are promised that the word of God  can cause us to stop our sinning if we allow it to be engrafted to our soul.
  8. In James 1:25, we are promised this man shall be blessed in his deed  if he looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work.

  18. James 5:16 says: The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

  10. 1Peter 2:21-24 tells us:  by whose (Jesus Christ) stripes ye were healed.  However, saved people need to maintain the testimony presented in this sentence and this chapter in order to receive this blessing.  Please see the note in the Detail Study, and the note in the Chapter Summary, for more on receiving this promise from God.

  14. 1Peter 5:14 says:  Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus.  The word that  means: 'there are saved people who do not meet this qualification and do not receive this promise'.  In addition, the phrase: in Christ Jesus  means: 'These people are doing their part to maintain this ongoing personal relationship with God which is in Christ Jesus'.  Please see the detailed note for much more on this sentence.

In 2Peter

  4. 2Peter 1:10-11 promise:  ye shall never fall (and) so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ  if we give diligence to make your calling and election sure  by personally doing these things  ('obey the commands given earlier in this epistle').
  5. 2Peter 1:12 promise that we will be established in the present truth  if we remember and obey the commandments which Peter wrote earlier in his epistle.
  6. 2Peter 1:19-21 promises that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation  because the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.  That Is: the Holy Ghost  gave the prophecy  for all saved to believe.
  7. 2Peter 2 promises and warns about false prophets (and) false teachers.  In that chapter, Peter tells us how to identify such and warns us of the judgment that God will give to them and to all who follow them.
  8. 2Peter 3:1-9 warns and promises us that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming?.  And, while it might seem like the Lord  will not keep His promise, we must believe that He will keep it in His time and not when ungodly men demand that He act.
  9. 2Peter 3:9 promises that The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  Therefore, we need to keep true faith  that He will keep it in His time.
  10. 2Peter 3:13 promises that we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
  11. 2Peter 3:15-16 promises that some things (are) hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.  Therefore, we are to not wrest  the scriptures but wait until God gives us understanding with the knowledge that such understanding only comes with spiritual maturity or our arriving in Heaven.
  12. 2Peter 3:17-18 promises that we can avoid being led away with the error of the wicked, (and) fall from your own stedfastness  if we grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

In 1John

  1. In 1John 1:4, we are promised that your joy may be full  if we believe and obey the commandments of this epistle.
  2. In 1John 1:6-7, we are promised we have fellowship one with another (with God), and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin  if we walk in the light, as he is in the light.  We are also required to not walk in darkness.
  3. In 1John 1:9-10, we are promised he (Lord Jesus Christ) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins  if we confess our sins  and let Him cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
  4. In 1John 2:3, we are promised we do know that we know him  ('have assurance of salvation') if we keep his commandments.
  5. In 1John 2:5, we are promised in us verily is the love of God perfected  if we keepeth his word.
  6. In 1John 2:10, we abideth in the light  if we loveth our brother.
  7. In 1John 2:10, we are promised that someone is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth  if they hateth his brother.
  8. 1John 2:13-14 tells us that young men  have overcome the wicked one  (Satan) because the word of God abideth in you.  This is also a promise to us that we can also overcome the wicked one  (Satan) if the word of God abideth in us.
  9. 1John 2:15 says: If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
  10. 1John 2:17, says he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever  ('has assurance of salvation').
  11. 1John 2:18 says: even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
  12. 1John 2:19, says They (true Biblical antichrists) went out from us, but they were not of us.  This means that true Biblical antichrists claimed to be saved and joined the church but then turned from truth to doctrinal error.
  13. In 1John 2:20, we are promised that each saved person, personally, has an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.  But, it requires us listening to our unction  and letting it correct doctrinal error.
  14. 1John 2:22, says that anyone who denieth that Jesus is the Christ  is a liar.
  15. In 1John 2:23 says: Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
  16. 1John 2:24 says: If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.  Then 1John 2:25 says: And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.  This means that if we keep the word of God  in us, and let it give us the character of God, we are assured of eternal life.
  17. In 1John 2:27, we are promised that God's Holy Ghost  will teach us if we abide in him.
  18. In 1John 2:28 says: And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.  If people don't obey the commands of this chapter, or if they don't heed to warnings of this chapter, then they will be ashamed before him at his coming.  Such saved people will receive bad  and the terror of the Lord  at the judgment seat of Christ.  However, our sentence promises that the saved people who do pay attention to the warnings of this chapter, and do obey the commandments of this chapter, may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him.
  19. In 1John 3:1, we are promised we should be called the sons of God  because of the manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us.  This manner of love  causes us to be changed by God to become more like Him.  Saved people who do not accept His changes are not called the sons of God  by the word of God.  And, this is clearly said in the next sentence (when he shall appear, we shall be like him).  Those saved people who are not like him)  also are not called the sons of God  by the word of God.
  20. In 1John 3:1-3, we are promised to be sons of God  if we purifieth  ourselves.
  21. In 1John 3:2, we are promised it doth not yet appear what we (the true Biblical sons of God) shall be.  This phrase promises greater changes after the true sons of God  get to Heaven.
  22. 1John 3:6 says: Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.  There is a lot of doctrinal error taught based upon this sentence.  We need to pay attention to the phrase: abideth in him  and match it with the Doctrinal Study called Relational Prepositions.  Basically, He will never leave us but we can leave out ongoing personal relationship with Him by refusing to meet our responsibilities in the relationship.  When we do that, we no longer abideth in him  and the rest of this sentence does not apply to us.  Please see the detail note, in the Book Study, for more details on this doctrine.
  23. 1John 3:8, says: He that committeth sin is of the devil  with the word of  meaning: 'belongs to'.  Remember that Jesus  told Peter Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men  in: Matthew 16:23; Mark 8:33 and Luke 4:8.  Just as Peter was saved but still 'belonged to Satan', in that time, so also do we 'belong to a devil'  when we committeth sin  ('do ongoing lifestyle sin'),  even though we are saved.
  24. 1John 3:9 says: Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.  This is another sentence which is used to teach doctrinal error.  It really means: 'If you are truly saved then you can not do any sin which will cause you to lose your salvation because it was God Who saved you and you belong to God'.  Please see the detail note, in the Book Study, for more details on this doctrine.
  25. 1John 3:10 tells us that 'we reveal in every possible way' (manifest)  if our character came from God or if it came from the devil by if we doeth righteousness  and if we loveth (our) brother.
  26. 1John 3:14 says: He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
  27. 1John 3:15 says: Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him  with the word hateth  meaning: 'an ongoing lifestyle hate'.  Basically, if a truly saved person decides to live this way then God will kill him (Romans 6:16).
  28. In 1John 3:18, we are promised we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him  if we do not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
  29. In 1John 3:22, we are promised whatsoever we ask, we receive of him  if we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
  30. 1John 3:24 says: he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him .  And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
  31. In 1John 4:2-3, we are promised that we, personally, can know the Spirit of God  if that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.  That is: 'the (lower-case) spirit of a person has a lifestyle identification (confesseth)  with the fact that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh and shows us how to live in the flesh using the power of the Holy Spirit'.  Such a person follows the example of Jesus  and has Christ  teaching them how to mature spiritually.  Please see the Doctrinal Study called: What Did Jesus Do? for more on this doctrine.
  32. In 1John 4:4, we are promised we can overcome  devils but only if we rely on the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,  which requires us to do our part to maintain our4 ongoing personal relationship with Him.
  33. In 1John 4:5-6, we are promised that we can know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error  by if a person listens to God,  and godly people, or if they person listens to the world.
  34. In 1John 4:12, we are promised God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us  if we love one another.
  35. In 1John 4:15, we are promised God dwelleth in him, and he in God  if we confess that Jesus is the Son of God  ('live a life which identifies us with Jesus  and shows how He teaches us to have the character of God').
  36. 1John 4:16 says: God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
  37. In 1John 4:17, we are promised we may have boldness in the day of judgment  if we have our love made perfect  while we in this world.
  38. 1John 4:20 says:   if we If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?.  That is: if a man truly loves God then he will also love his brother.
  39. In 1John 5:2, we are promised that we can know that we love the children of God  when we love God, and keep his commandments.
  40. In 1John 5:4, we are promised that true Biblical faith  will give us the victory that overcometh the world.  But, we must let God work in and through our faith.
  41. 1John 5:10 says: He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
  42. In 1John 5:13, we are promised that ye may know that ye have eternal life (are saved), and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God *increase our spiritual life)  if we believe  what is written in the word of God.
  43. In 1John 5:14, we are promised the confidence that he heareth us  if we ask any thing according to his will.

In 2John

  1. In 2John 1:3, we are promised Grace be with you, mercy, and peace  if we walk in truth,  as this epistle commands.
  2. In 2John 1:9, promises that we hath both the Father and the Son  ('have an ongoing fellowship with God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ') if we abideth in the doctrine of Christ,  'keep on living in the doctrine of Christ').

In 3John

  1. In 3John 1:5-7, we are promised that we shalt do well  if we support missions and missionaries.  John writes that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth  when we do this.
  2. In 3John 1:11 says: He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

In Jude

Jude 1:24-45 says: Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever.  This promise is only made to the people who understand and obey this epistle.

In Revelation

  1. Revelation 1:3 says: Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.  Pay attention to the word and  in the phrase and keep those things which are written therein.
  2. Revelation 1:4-6 tells us many things which Jesus Christ  has done for the saved including made us kings and priests unto God and his Father.  However, saved people who are not doing their part in their ongoing personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ  do not receive the privileges and promises which are part of that relationship.
  3. Revelation 1:17-18 does not appear to give us promises but it actually gives us assurances of promises which are dependent upon resurrection.  Please see the note in the Book Study for more details on this assurance.
  4. Revelation 2:7 has two Steps which tell us what we need to do in order to receive the promise of this sentence.  steps must be done in order to receive this promise..  The First Step is to spiritually hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches;.  This is not some personal revelation but truly hearing, and understanding, the spiritual message that God gives to all true churches.  The Second Step is to overcome,  as explained in the next point.  No one can truly overcome  until after they truly do the First Step.  And, the promised reward is not something which we can fully understand now because it will only be given after we get to Heaven.  However, considering the types of rewards which God promises, it will be worth fulfilling the requirements and it will be forever.
  5. Several sentences in Revelation make promises to He that overcometh.  The specific sins mentioned have some variance but all require the saved person to have a lifestyle of overcoming  the lusts of the flesh, the way of the world and the doctrines of devils.  These specific sentences are:
    1. Revelation 2:7 says: To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.  This is a promise of future reward when someone gets to Heaven (in the midst of the paradise of God).  However, in order to receive it, the person must be saved and must overcome  the lusts of the flesh, the way of the world and the doctrines of devils.
    2. Revelation 2:11 says: He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.  The saved who truly overcometh  (the lusts of the flesh, the way of the world and the doctrines of devils)  can have assurance that they will not go to Hell nor to the lake of fire.
    3. Revelation 2:17 says: to him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.  Receiving this promise requires the saved person to truly overcometh  (the lusts of the flesh, the way of the world and the doctrines of devils)  and to fight against the doctrine of 'Easy Believism'.
    4. Revelation 2:26-27 promises that he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end  will return with our Lord Jesus Christ  to help rule it during the 1,000 years reign of Christ.  One of the big lies which is preached today is that anyone who makes a religious profession can 'claim' this promise while they refuse to fulfill the requirement to overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end.
    5. Revelation 2:28 promises that our Lord Jesus Christ  will give the morning star  to those who return with Him to rule this world.
    6. Revelation 3:5 promises that He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.  This particular sentence causes problems because people claim that we can lose our salvation since this sentence says that our Lord Jesus Christ  will blot out (someone's) name out of the book of life  if they do not fulfill the requirements of this sentence.  But that claim goes against many Bible promises which are the basis of the doctrine called everlasting salvation.  In addition, 1Timothy 2:4 says: Who (God our Saviour)  will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.  The acceptable explanation is that God 'pencils in' everyone's name at conception.  He manes that entry permanent when they accept Lord Jesus Christ  as their personal Lord.  He blots out (their) name out of the book of life  when it becomes obvious that they will never be saved.  This explanation reconciles all of the various Bible references and I have never heard any other explanation which reconciles all related references.
    7. Revelation 3:12 promises that he that overcometh  will have a permanent position in the new Jerusalem.
    8. Revelation 3:21 says: To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.  This is a promise to return and rule on this Earth with Christ  during His 1,000 years reign.
    9. Revelation 12:11 tells us that certain saved people overcame him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb.  The sentence before that tells us what God provided so that they could overcome.  They had to:
      1. Accept true Biblical salvation
      2. Use God's strength  and not rely on their own
      3. Receive the character of God (the kingdom of our God)  as their own character while alive
      4. And, the had to let the power of his Christ  show through their physical life so that they became true Biblical Christians.
    10. Revelation 21:7 promises that He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.  In order to truly receive the character of God (be my son),  and to inherit all of the spiritual promises, the saved person must truly have a lifestyle of overcoming.
    11. Please also see the note for 2Peter 2:19 about the word overcome  and links to other places in the New Testament where this word is used and the doctrines attached to it.
  6. Revelation 2:10 says: Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.  Receiving the crown of life  requires the saved person to Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer  with our sentence only naming a couple of things that true servants of God can suffer for His name.
  7. Revelation 2:14-16 says that our Lord Jesus Christ  will fight against the people who preach a doctrine which excuses living for the lusts of the flesh.  These sentences promise judgment from God (will fight against them with the sword of my mouth)  against anyone who follows that doctrine.
  8. Revelation 2:22 promises that God will cast (them that commit adultery with preachers who preach excuses for sins) into a bed into great ribulation, except they repent of their deeds.
  9. Revelation 2:23 promises: I will kill her children with death.  That is, the people who follow doctrines which excuse sin will see their children  and followers sent to Hell and the lake of fire  (I will kill).
  10. Revelation 2:23 says the same as 2Corinthians 5:10-11.  The two saying the same thing make it party of God's law which can not be changed.  That is, our Lord Jesus Christ  says that He searcheth the reins and hearts  and that He will: give unto every one of you according to your works.  That is, our works  will be used to reveal our attitudes towards God (the reins and hearts)  and, based upon context, those saved people whop follow a life of pursuing the lusts of the flesh, the way of the world and the doctrines of devils will be punished at the judgment seat of Christ.
  11. Revelation 2:24 promises that our Lord Jesus Christ  will: put upon you none other burden  to people who are surrounded by the prior doctrines but still have not known the depths of Satan.  That is; they refuse to personally sin in spite of being told that there will be no punishment for doing those sins.
  12. Revelation 2:26-27 also promises that I will give him the morning star.  That is: they will have an ongoing personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ  through His role as the morning star.
  13. Revelation 3:3 warns that our Lord Jesus Christ  will bring sudden judgment without warning for saved people who continue in sin and refiuse to truly Biblically repent.
  14. Revelation 3:4 promises that saved people who have not defiled their garments,  in spite of being in a church which excuses a life of sin, shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
  15. Revelation 3:7-8 says that our Lord Jesus Christ  has set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it  for  thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.  This is a personal (thou)  promise that can be 'claimed'  by any saved person who hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name  in spite of any and all weaknesses (thou hast a little strength).
  16. Revelation 3:9 promises that our Lord Jesus Christ  will make the preachers and teachers of false doctrines (them of the synagogue of Satan)  to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.  I assume that this will be at the judgment seat of Christ,  for many reasons, but can not doctrinally say when this promise will be fulfilled.
  17. Revelation 3:10 promises that saved people who have kept the word of my patience  will not go through the great tribulation.  It does not say that other saved people will go through it but these saved people have the comfort of this promise while saved, but carnal, people will not have that assurance.  In addition, Revelation 3:11 says that saved people can lose their crown  (the promise to return with Christ  for His 1,000 years reign). if we do not hold that fast which thou hast.
  18. Revelation 3:11 is one of four places where we read: I come quickly.  Every one of those references promise a different blessing to the saved people who fulfill the particular requirement.  This reference promises a crown  to those saved people who hold that fast which thou hast.
  19. Revelation 3:16 says that our Lord Jesus Christ  will personally (theespew out of my mouth  every saved person who is personally lukewarm.  In my experience, all such saved people are looking forward to receiving 'a mansion right next door to Peter and an eternity of bliss', even while they refuse to even learn what is required in order to receive those promises.
  20. Revelation 3:19 says: As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.  This is a promise that our Lord Jesus Christ  will rebuke and chasten  the truly saved who are living in sin.  Hebrews 12:8 says: But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.  Many people who claim to be saved, but live in sin, complain because 'bad things happen to them'.  In some cases, they are truly saved and our Lord Jesus Christ  is keeping this promise and trying to get them to truly Biblically repent.  In other cases, the people are truly lost and only reaping the results of their sinful lifestyle.  And, in a few cases, the people are truly saved and serving God and God is putting them into a situation where it is obvious that they can not get themselves out of it.  In those cases, God is preparing them to receive a miracle in their life.
  21. Revelation 3:20 says: Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.  Although this verse is often preached for salvation, the context makes it clear that it is truly a promise to saved people.  This is a promise of personal fellowship, after salvation, if we truly receive our Lord Jesus Christ  in an ongoing personal relationship.  He will not force Himself on us.  Even as saved people, we need to keep opening the door of fellowship.
  22. Revelation 3:21 says: To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.  THis is a promise to retiurn with Christ  to rule with Him for 1,000 years.  However, we need to accept that God limits this promise to him that overcometh.  This is 'a life-style of overcoming the temptations from the lusts of the flesh, the doctrines of devils and the ways of the world'.
  23. Revelation 6:11 has a promise given to the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held  during the great tribulation.  This is not given to other saved people in heaven.
  24. Revelation 13:10 promises that God will make sure that everyone will 'reap what they sow'.
  25. Revelation 14:13 is a particular promise which is limited to tribulation martyrs.  However, without going into the other less explicite promises, we see similar promises to all true martyrs.
  26. Revelation 16:15 promises blessings that that saved people will not walk naked  if they pay attention, expect our Lord Jesus Christ  to show up with no prior notice, and keepeth his garments  ('stay spiritually clean').
  27. Revelation 19:9 promises blessings to saved people who serve God's kingdom in this life and are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.
  28. Revelation 20:6 promises blessings to saved people who are part of the first resurrection.  It separates them from the lost and saved who are part of the second resurrection.  It also promises special blessings to these saved people and tells us that on such the second death hath no power.
  29. Revelation 20:6 also promises that the saved people, who are part of the first resurrectionshall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.  People who truly serve God are given assurances which are denied to saved people who refuse to serve God.
  30. Revelation 21:6 says: I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.  This promise is for this life.  Please see the detailed Note for the explanation of this sentence.
  31. Revelation 21:7 says: He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.  This promise can only be received in this life.  Please see the detailed Note for the explanation of this sentence.
  32. Revelation 21:8 promises damnation to the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars.
  33. Revelation 22:6 is one of four places where we read: I come quickly.  Every one of those references promise a different blessing to the saved people who fulfill the particular requirement.  This reference promises that people will be blessed if they have a lifestyle of keeping the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
  34. Revelation 22:7 says: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.  Lots of people like to 'claim' this promise.  However, the word keepeth  means; 'a lifestyle of keeping'.  Most saved people don't even understand the prophecy of this book,  much less have 'a lifestyle of keeping them'.
  35. Revelation 22:12 is one of four places where we read: I come quickly.  Every one of those references promise a different blessing to the saved people who fulfill the particular requirement.  This reference promises that people will be blessed according as his work shall be.

Prophecies.

Revelation 22:16 says: I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches.  This tells us that our Lord Jesus Christ  is the true author.  The angel  is: 'the messenger' who has a job to deliver the original message without altering it in any way.  Think about if someone calls you on the phone and the function of the phone in that conversation.  That is the function of God's 'the messenger' in delivering this Revelation.  And, the 'the messenger' includes John and all of the angels  who delivered the messages and sights to John for him to relay to us.

Revelation 22:6 tells us These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.  This tells us that ALL prophecy, found in the word of God,  is faithful and true.  In addition, 2Timothy 3:16-17 says: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.  That means that all of these prophecies are backed by the character of God.  Any perversion of them is an attack on the character of God.

Revelation 1:10 says: What thou seest, write in a book, and send it (to God's people).  However, Revelation 10:4 says: And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.  Thus, true prophecy comes from God and God decides what is revealed and what is not revealed.

Revelation 1:12-16 gives us a description of our Lord Jesus Christ  that John saw.  That description must, obviously, be understood symbolically and spiritually.  It is a simple example of a principal which applies to all prophecy.  All prophecy must be understood symbolically and spiritually.  However, like parables, God deliberately leads the lost and the carnal into errors.  Therefore, there is a lot of wrong interpretation of Bible prophecy.  We must look at the life to the person giving the interpretation and see if the true power of God is in their life.  Are they willing to suffer in the flesh in order to serve God or does their life show evidence of pursuing the way of the world and the lusts of the flesh?.

The word hereafter  tells us that the sentence it is in is giving us a prophecy of the future.  The sentence for Revelation 4:1 gives us the links to every place where this word is used in the word of God.  Please see that note to access those prophecies.

Revelation 1:19-20 tell us that John was told to write prophecy and part of the symbolism, used in Revelation, was explained in those sentences.  We need to be aware that devil-motivated men will try to give us wrong interpretations of prophecies.  As a result, we need to reject all interpretations given by anyone who goes against an interpretation literally provided by the word of God.

In Acts:

  1. Acts 1:9-11 says: And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.  And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven?  This was when Lord Jesus Christ  returned to Heaven  and two angels prophesied His return.
  2. Acts 3:18 tells us that Christ  had to suffer.  Please see the Gospel Significant Events Study for links to the many places where the word of God  tells us about Christ suffering.
  3. Acts 3:19-21 tells us that Jesus Christ  will come to all saved who are converted.  It also prophesies the 1,000 years rule of Christ.
  4. Acts 3:22 reminds us that Moses prophesied the 1,000 year reign of Christ.
  5. Acts 3:22 reminds us that Moses prophesied that Christ  would be a prophet like him.
  6. In Acts 3:23 we have a continuation of the prior reminder but this sentence promises destruction (going to Hell) for everyone who refuses to hear Jesus.
  7. Acts 3:25 reminds us that God promised Abrahan that in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.  Since the jews refused to take the Gospel message to the qorld, and considered themselves betterthan all other people because God chose them to be His messengers, then God had Jesus Christ  start the church to take over that job.
  8. In Acts 19:6, newly saved Jews prophesied as a sign of their true salvation after believing only in John's baptism.
  9. In Acts 20:25, Paul prophesies that he will not see the people in the church of Ephesus again.
  10. In Acts 20:29-30, Paul prophesies that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.  Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.
  11. In Acts 21:11, Agabus prophesied that Paul would be bound and suffer if he went to Jerusalem.
  12. In Acts 22:14-15, Ananias prophesied, about Paul, that, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.  Please see the Minor Titles of the Son of God, in the Significant Gospel Events Study, about the title of: Just One.  In this prophecy, we read that God would use Paul to know his will  ('take the Gospel to the Gentiles'), see that Just One  ('see that our Lord Jesus Christ treats everyone the same and does not discriminate between Jews and Gentiles'), and to hear the voice of his mouth  ('Paul would receive personal commands from our Lord Jesus Christ'.  Please see elsewhere in this Study for those Bible references.)
  13. In Acts 27:9-10, Paul prophesied the destruction of the sailing ship and all of the load if they continued.  That prophecy was fulfilled in Acts 27:39-440.
  14. In Acts 27:30-31, Paul prophesied the death of others if the cowardly seamen were allowed to flee the ship and leave everyone else with no one who knew what to do.
  15. In Acts 28:25-27, Paul prophesied the final judgment, and destruction, of the Jerusalem Church, and of all Jews in general, because they refused to let their Lord  correct their doctrine.
  16. In Acts 28:28, Paul prophesied that the Gentiles would receive the Gospel.

In Romans:

  1. Romans 1:17 says: as it is written, The just shall live by faith:  This is quoting Habakkuk 2:4 where he said that the phrase came directly from God in a vision.  This is a prophecy of the changed life during the church age due to saved having the indwelling Holy Spirit to direct their life if they obey in true Biblical faith.
  2. Romans 2:16 says: In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospelJesus Christ  will be the judge of all men, both at the judgment seat of Christ  and at the great white throne.
  3. Romans 6:5-6 says: For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:  The saved who die to self (have been planted together in the likeness of his death)  will have a character and power of God (shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection)  that is like what Jesus Christ  displayed after His resurrection.
  4. Romans 6:8-9 says: Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:  This promise is not just for the here and now.  Those saved people who also are truly dead with Christ  will return to live with him  for His 1,000 years reign.  (Some saved people will not be allowed to return because they refused to serve God after being saved.).
  5. Romans 7:24-25 says: who shall deliver me from the body of this death?  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord.:  God the Father, working through Jesus Christ our Lord  will give us a new body that does not have the corruption of sin and, therefore, does not have the influence to cause us to sin.
  6. Romans 8:18 says: For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.:  The truly saved who suffer for the service to Jesus Christ  will receive glory,  in Heaven, which is far beyond and suffering here in this life.
  7. Romans 8:19-22 - The curse shall be completely removed from all of creation for the 1,000 years reign of Christ.
  8. Romans 15:12 quotes Isaiah 11:1-10 to tell us that he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.  This has an application for the saved during the 'Church Age' but the full interpretation of it will not happen until the 1,000 years reign of Christ.
  9. Romans 9:27-29 says: Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved: For he will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.  And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.:  This prophecy will be fulfilled when Jesus Christ  returns to rule this physical world.  Only a remnant shall be saved.  All Jews living at that time will accept Jesus Christ  as their personal Lord  and King  when He returns.  All who will not do so will be killed during the great tribulation.
  10. Romans 9:32-33 says: As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.:  The Jews stumbled  at the position and doctrine of Jesus Christ.  And, many people of today also do the same.  However, in this 'Church Age', saved people who truly put their belief on  the person Who is Jesus Christ,  are not ashamed,  in this present time, and will not be ashamed  at the judgment seat of Christ.  Thus, we see this prophecy fulfilled today even if some people miss out on the promised blessing because they refuse to fulfilled the requirement to receive the blessing.
  11. Romans 11:26-27: This sentence is quoting Isaiah 59:20 combined with the truth of Psalms 65:3.  The things that this sentence is talking about will happen with the return of the Lord Jesus Christ  to end the Great Tribulation.  This place in Romans, and other places in the Bible, say that all Jews living on the Earth at that time will accept Him as their Messiah  and so all Israel shall be saved.  The note for this sentence, in the Book Study, has many more related Old Testament references to this prophecy.

In 1Corinthians:

  1. 1Corinthians 15:51-52 prophesies the 'Rapture'.
  2. 1Corinthians 15:54-57,  prophesies the end of death.

In 2Corinthians

  1. In 2Corinthians 4:13-14, we read: Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
  2. In 2Corinthians 11:15, we read: Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.  This sentence is speaking about the ministers of Satan.  However, it also applies to all followers of Satan and of the doctrines of devils  (1Timothy 4:1).  Basically, it prophesies that the end  and their judgment shall be according to their works.  That is: destruction to all who support lies, especially lies which send others to hell.

In 1Timothy:

  1. In 1Timothy 6:13-16,  we read: Which in his (our Lord Jesus Christ) times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords.  This is speaking (prophesying)  about the 1,000 years reign of Christ.

In 2Timothy:

  1. Please see the note for 2Timothy 2:11-13 under Promises.  Those promises are also prophecies.
  2. 2Timothy 4:1-2 says: who (the Lord Jesus Christ) who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom.  This means that the judgment seat of Christ  (Romans 14:10; 2Corinthians 5:10) will happen after the 'Rapture' and before the return of the Lord Jesus Christ  to rule and reign this world.
  3. 2Timothy 4:1-2 says: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.  This means that the judgment seat of Christ  is when people will receive their crowns.  It also means that anyone who receives a crown  will return with Christ  to rule and reign this world for 1,000 years.

In 1Thessalonians:

  1. 1Thessalonians 3:4 says: For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.  Thus, we see a prophecy given and fulfilled.
  2. 1Thessalonians 3:12-13 includes the phrase: at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.  This is telling us that Jesus Christ  may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father  at the time of His return.  Our returning with Him will remove any doubt about if our current life is acceptable to God.
  3. 1Thessalonians 4:15 says: For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  This means that the saved but dead (asleep)  people will go up in the 'Rapture' (shall not prevent)  before saved and living people.
  4. 1Thessalonians 4:16-17 tells us about the 'Rapture'.
  5. 1Thessalonians 5:1 tells us that saved people who are serving God will understand the truth about prophecy while others who be led into doctrinal error.  In addition, the Chapter Note for 1Thessalonians 5 explains many things about understanding prophecy God's way so that you believe truth and not doctrinal error.
  6. 1Thessalonians 5:3 tells us For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

In 2Thessalonians:

  1. 2Thessalonians 1:3-10 tells us about the Lord Jesus Christ  returning to rule and reign for 1,000 years.  It also has several other prophecies about what He will do at that time.  .Please see the Message called: Manifest Token of the Righteous Judgment of God about the prophecies of this sentence.
  2. 2Thessalonians 2:1-7 tells us about the return of our Lord Jesus Christ  to rule and reign for 1,000 years.  Please use the link to access the related notes in the Book Study for more details on these prophecies.
  3. 2Thessalonians 2:11-12 tells us that the people who had a chance to hear the Gospel, and rejected that chance, will never get saved even though they remain alive until our Lord Jesus Christ  returns to this world.
  4. 2Thessalonians 2:13-14 tells us that saved people who truly devote their current life to the service of God, and the Gospel, shall obtain of the glory of our Lord Jesus Chris.  Please use the link to access the related note in the Book Study for more details on this prophecy.

In Hebrews:

  1. Hebrews 11:39-40 says: And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.  This means that that saved people in Heaven have not yet received their everlasting rewards and will not receive them until all saved, of the 'Church Age', are also in Heaven.  Since rewards are given out at the judgment seat of Christ,  our sentence indicates that it will not happen until after the 'Rapture'.
  2. Hebrews 12:26 says: Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.  This is a prophecy of the day of the Lord,  which is also called the great tribulation.
  3. James 5:7-8 tell us that the coming of the Lord draweth nigh  and says it twice.

In 1Peter:

  1. 1Peter 2:11-12 says:  that people who persecuted saved and serving people will glorify God in the day of visitation  (their judgment day) because they saw God working through the lives of the saved and serving.  As lost people, they spoke against you as evildoers,  instead of accepting the truth.  However, at their judgment they will have to admit the truth
  2. 1Peter 4:7 says:  the end of all things is at hand,  which means: 'The 'Rapture' can happen at any time.  There is nothing left which must precede it'.
  3. 1Peter 4:12-13 says:  ye may be glad also with exceeding joy  Christ  returns to rule this world for 1,000 years.
  4. 1Peter 5:4 tells us:  And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.  This means: 'When the 'Rapture' happens (when the chief Shepherd shall appear),  people will personally (ye)  (receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away)'.  The context is that Peter is only writing to the saved who are also serving and not to the saved but carnal.

In 2Peter:

  1. 2Peter 1:13-15 says that our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed  Peter that he would soon die before it happened.  He did this so that Peter would write the epistle of 2Peter.
  2. 2Peter 1:16-21 promises that We have also a more sure word of prophecy,  and that prophecy  is more sure  than Peter's personal experience on the 'Mount of Transfiguration'.  And, this is true because the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
  3. 2Peter 2 promises that false prophets and false teachers  will be judged (their damnation slumbereth no).
  4. 2Peter 3:5-7 promises that the current Earth will remain until the great white throne judgment.
  5. 2Peter 3:10-12 promises that But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up...all these things shall be dissolved...the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat.  This is when God brings judgment upon everyone who rejects Him and His right to rule them.
  6. 2Peter 3:13 says: Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

In Jude:

  1. Jude 1:14-15 says: And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.  This is a prophecy of the return of Christ  and the judgment that He will bring against all the people and armies which follow the beast  of Revelation.

In Revelation

  1. Revelation 1:1-2 says: the entire book of Revelation is prophecy.  However, Revelation 10:4 says: And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.  Thus, there are future events which were not revealed.  In spite of what many people claim, this book is not about many revelations but is about a single revelation that Jesus Christ  is Lord  of all.  If a future event did hot reveal His Lordship,  then John was told to not write it down.  Therefore, all future events which are revealed in this book are revealed for the purpose of letting men know that our Lord Jesus Christ  is Lord  of all.
  2. It should be obvious that there are far more detail prophecies than what are listed below.  This Study only provides a summary of the prophecies found within each chapter.  The reader can use the links provided to go the Detailed Studies for each chapter if they desire to know the details of a particular chapter.
  3. Revelation 1:7 says: Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.  This is not the Rapture because, at that time, every eye shall see  only dead bodied dropping to the ground as the souls and spirits of the truly saved abandon these corrupt bodies.  No, this prophecy is about the 'Second Coming'.  While most of the things reported in this book are in a time sequence, not all are.  Thus, we have a summary statement then John returns to earlier events in time to provide more detains.  Please also see the Prophecy Section, of the Significant Gospel Events Study, for more Bible references and links to this event.
  4. Revelation 1:8 tells us that our Lord Jesus Christ  shall return and that He will return as the Almighty.  This sentence also gives us several secondary titles for our Lord Jesus Christ,  which tell us more about His character.
  5. Revelation 1:10-11 is not a prophecy but it tells us the command, which was given to John, which resulted in this book of prophecy.
  6. Revelation 2:5 says: Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.  In this sentence, the word candlestick  is applied to the church.  However, it can also be applied to ministries, churches and individuals.  Our Lord Jesus Christ  did not have John write this only to that church but also had it preserved unto today to provide a warning to all churches which acted in a similar manner.  The church of Ephesus left their first love  because they mixed doctrinal error with truth.  England was given an empire which spanned the world, when they took the Gospel to the world, but then lost it because they also left their first love  because they mixed doctrinal error with truth.  Today, America is the mightiest nation on Earth because they took the Gospel to the world.  However, they also have left their first love  because they mixed doctrinal error with truth.  Thus, we should not be surprised when God brings judgment upon America.  In addition, we have see this same judgment applied to ministries, churches and individuals through history since the start of the 'Church Age'.
  7. Revelation 3:10 says: that the purpose of the great tribulation  is: to try them that dwell upon the earth.  Since the physical life of truly saved people, from the instant of their salvation until death, fulfills the same purpose, there is no need for them to go through the great tribulation.
  8. Revelation 6:10 says: And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?  There is a disagreement about the interpretation of this sentence.  The Treasury of Scripture Knowledge says: 'This seal seems a prediction of the terrible persecution of the church under Dioclesian and Maximian, from A.D. 270 to 304, which lasted longer, and was far more bloody, than any or all by which it was preceded, whence it was called "the era of the martyrs."'.  Some claim that it is an application for the great tribulation.  However, the next sentence makes it clear that this sentence does not apply to people who come out of the great tribulation.
  9. Revelation 7:15-17 says: Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.  They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.  For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.  There is a disagreement about the application of this sentence.  Some claim that these promises are to all saved as soon as they get to Heaven.  However, the prior sentence says: These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.  And, our quote starts with the word Therefore .  As a result, these promises are limited to the people whom John identified within the context, which are martyrs and 'tribulation saints'.  Please see the Book Study for more about these people as these particular promises are limited to them.
  10. Several places in Revelation, starting in Revelation 4:9, we read that the four beastsangels2wenty four elders  and saints  give glory, honor, praise, blessings  and more to God.  That is what the saved are prophesied to experience when they get to Heaven.
  11. Revelation 5 tells us about the book,  which is the ownership of the Earth, and only the Lamb  was found worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof.  This is when the Son of God  starts to take ownership of Earth from Satan.  The results of His doing so will be as John heard: the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands...very creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.  And the four beasts said, Amen.  And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.
  12. Revelation 5:13 seems to be the fulfillment of Isaiah 45:23, Romans 14:11 and Philippians 2:10, although it is commonly taught that those verses won't be fulfilled until later.
  13. Revelation 6 gives us all of the prophecies of what happens when the Lamb  opens the seals of the book  mentioned in the prior chapter.
  14. Revelation 7 tells us about angels sealing  an hundred and forty and four thousand  'virgin male Jews' to be witnesses for God during the great tribulation.  Be careful about what you believe about this chapter because there is a lot of doctrines from devils perverting the truth of this chapter.  This chapter also tells us the reward given to those hundred and forty and four thousand  and there are liars claiming that these rewards can be 'claimed' by other people including people who devote their lives to serving sin and devils.
  15. Revelation 8 tells us that when he (the Lamb) had opened the seventh seal  that the first four of seven trumpets  were sounded by seven angels  and the chapter also gives the prophecies related to those trumpets.
  16. Revelation 9 tells us the prophecies resulting from the next two of the seven trumpets  being sounded by seven angels.  This is when the worst devils are literally loosed from Hell and allowed to rampage on Earth.  In addition, Revelation 9:6 says: And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
  17. Revelation 10 tells us the prophecies resulting from the last of the seven trumpets  being sounded by seven angels.  This is when the seven thunders utter their voices.  We are told that the result will be: the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.  We are not told the direct results of the seven thunders.  However, we are told that John was commanded to Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth...and eat it up.  The result of John doing that is prophecies about other things which are given in the remaining chapters of Revelation.
  18. Revelation 11 tells us about God's two witnesses,  who will be prophets.  There are differing opinions as to who they will be but most agree that they will be prophets whom God to Heaven alive but will be returned to Earth for this ministry and so that they, also, will experience physical death.  Our chapter includes the reaction in heaven and on Earth when their ministry is completed.
  19. Revelation 12 tells us about a woman,  who, symbolically, is the mother of God's people, the Jews.  However, because of the symbolism, some people claim that she represents someone else.  In addition, our chapter tells us about a dragon,  who is symbolic for Satan.  Our chapter tells us that he is thrown out of Heaven and fights against God's angels and loses, and he tries to kill the women and all of her children, who are the Jews.
  20. Revelation 12:5 is a prophecy about our Lord Jesus Christ  ruling this Earth with a rod of iron.
  21. Revelation 12:6 and Revelation 12:14 are prophecies about God protecting the Jews in the wilderness  during the great tribulation.
  22. Revelation 12:6 is a prophecy about Satan being cast out of Heaven and into the earth  and that he will never be allowed into Heaven again.
  23. Revelation 12:15 and Revelation 12:16 are prophecies about Satan doing a miracle to try and kill all of the Jews who were fleeing and God doing a counter miracle to protect them.
  24. Revelation 13 tells us about the beast  which had seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns.  He blasphemy against Godmade war with the saints, and overcame them  and received worship from people whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.  Our chapter also tells us about a second beast  and how he gave life to an image which he made everyone worship.  This is where we read: Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six  Please see the note for Matthew 10:30 about the word number.  The New Testament definitionfor this word is: 'Used to count things.  Also used symbolically in the Bible'.  The note from The Morrish Bible Dictionary is extensive and includes 'Numbers are used as Symbols'.  Be very careful about the use of This information.  Much doctrinal error and division has been caused in God's church by preachers claiming that the symbolical meaning of numbers provided the single interpretation of the word of God  and that the symbolic meaning actually corrected the word of GodAll symbolic meanings provide the many applications, must be understood within the context where they are found, and can vary from one application to another.  Be careful to not use these symbols beyond their God-given purpose.
  25. Revelation 14 tells us the Gospel preached by the angels after the hundred forty and four thousand  died and went to Heaven.  Their message included death and eternal torment to all who worshipped the beast and his image  or who received his mark in their forehead or hand.
  26. Revelation 14 tells us .
  27. Revelation 15 tells us about people worshipping God in the temple of Heaven after they died during the great tribulation  because they had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name.  And, while they worshipped. seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God  came out of the temple to spread the plagues while people in Heaven worshipped God.
  28. Revelation 15:4 gives a prophecy of everyone truly fearing the Lord  during the 1,000 years reign of Christ.
  29. Revelation 16 tells us about the seven angels...pouring out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.  Here we read that God sends the message of: It is done.  Everything was prepared for the great battle at Armageddon.
  30. Revelation 16:17 tells us that God said: It is done.  We still have the war and the throwing of devils in prison and the 'Sheep and Goat Judgment'.  However, at this point, God is declaring that all of these things will happen and that there is nothing that Satan, nor any other being, can do to stop God from fulfilling His prophecies exactly as He said he would do.
  31. Revelation 17 tells us about the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters.  Many claim that it is the Roman Catholic Church.  It is actually the One World Religion, which the Roman Catholic Church is part of.  It rides the beast...which hath the seven heads and ten horns.  That beast  is the devil controlled government.  Here we see the uniting of government and religion.  Our chapter also tells us: These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.  One devil motivated lie is that all saved will return with Christ  to rule and reign with Him.  Our sentence tells us that only those saved people whom God judges to have all three attributed of; called, and chosen, and faithful  will be allowed to return with Christ.
  32. Revelation 18 tells us about the judgment of spiritual Babylon  and the reaction of lost and carnal men to the destruction of it.  Our chapter ends by telling us why it was destroyed when it says: in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
  33. Revelation 19 starts with telling us about everyone in Heaven worshipping God for the victory over Satan and his armies.  Then we read about the marriage of the Lamb  and His bride.  After that, we read about the Son of God  and what he is like as He returns to Earth and conquers.  We are told that: the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him...were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.  Then we are told that: the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. .  One important thing to pay attention to is that people in Heaven worshipped God for finishing the war even before He returned and did it.  This is true Biblical faith.  We must worship God for accomplishing whatever he will do even before He starts to act.
  34. Revelation 20 tells us about the 1,000 years reign of Christ.  It starts with the judgment of Satan.  He was bound a thousand years...in the bottomless pit.  After that time, he was loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.  These are the descendants of those people who were allowed to go into the 1,000 year reign of Christ  in their corrupt human bodies.  The end result of this addition rebellion by Satan will be: the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.  After that, we have the great white throne  judgment when all lost people will be cast into the lake of fireThis is the second death.  But, before that, each will be judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.  That judgment is to determine their level of torment in the lake of fire.  Our chapter ends with: And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
  35. Revelation 21 tells us about the new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.  It also tells us that God shall wipe away all tears from their (the saved) eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.  Be careful because there are several very popular lies which perverts this truth.  God can not wipe away all tears from their eyes  if the saved in Heaven do not have tears.  The most popular lie claims: 'no tears in heaven and that all who profess to be saved will be in eternal bliss as soon as they die'.  Our chapter makes it clear that that is a promise for the new heaven and a new earth,  which does not happen until after the saved, of the 'Church Age', have been in Heaven for at least 1,007 years.  Our chapter also identifies all who will be cast into the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone.  Then it describes the new holy Jerusalem.
  36. Revelation 22 tells us about living in the new holy Jerusalem.  It also tells us that our Lord Jesus Christ  says: Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book...and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.  After that, we have an invitation and a final warning of: For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.  Our book ends with: Even so, come, Lord Jesus.  The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.  Amen.  As written earlier in this Book Study, it is a single revelation  (not many) and it reveals that our Lord Jesus Christ  is Lord of lords and King of kings.

Prophecy Fulfilled.

  • Note: most fulfilled prophecies, in the New Testament, are attached to, or are the direct result of a miracle.
  • Mark 16:17-18 gives signs which were seen in the early church which verified that the people who received the signs were speaking for God.  Some religions try to claim that they are spiritual if they have one of these signs, at one time in their life, even if they have to fake it.  The truth is that many of the miracles listed in this Study are fulfillments of Mark 16:17-18.  One example is Acts 28:3-6.  I did not list each of those miracles in this section, but the reader can look at any given miracle, listed above, and verify for themselves if it fulfills this prophecy.
This was when Lord Jesus Christ  returned to HeavenJesus  prophesied this in John 7:33; John 13:33; John 14:3; John 14:12; John 14:19; John 14:28; John 16:5; John 16:7; John 16:10; John 16:16; John 20:17.  And, this was also prophesied in the Old Testament in: Psalms 22:27; Psalms 98:3; Isaiah 32:15; Isaiah 42:10; Isaiah 44:3-4; Isaiah 49:6; Isaiah 52:10; Isaiah 59:20-21; Isaiah 66:19; Jeremiah 16:19; Joel 2:28-32; Micah 3:8; Zechariah 4:6.
    2. In Acts 2:14-21, at Pentecost, Peter says that the prophecies of the coming of the Holy Ghost were fulfilled.  Those prophecies were given in John 14:26 and John 15:26-27 and John 16:7Jesus  had to return to Heaven before this could happen.
    3. In Acts 2:16-21, Peter quoted from Joel 2:28-32, which included the phrase: your young men shall see visions.  We see this fulfilled in: Acts 9:10; Acts 9:11-12; Acts 9:9-19 (Peter reported this vision to the church in Acts 11:4-6); Acts 16:9-10; Acts 18:9-10; Acts 26:19-20; 2Corinthians 12:1 and Revelation 19:17.
    4. Acts 5:30-32 tell us that Peter preached to the Jewish religious leaders about the resurrection  of Jesus  and how the apostles were witnesses of that event and that God's Holy Ghost  was also a witness by doing miracles to verify their preaching.
    5. Acts 2:25-27 tells us about Peter quoting Psalms 16:8-11 and saying that it was fulfilled when Jesus  returned to Heaven.  In addition, while the following points also are other places in the New Testament which provide similar doctrines, the links provided are for prophecies which we are told were fulfilled at this time.
    6. Acts 2:25 references Psalms 73:23; Psalms 109:31; Psalms 110:5; Isaiah 41:13 and Isaiah 50:7-9 when it says for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.  This is part of the current ministry of Jesus Christ  for His church.
    7. Acts 2:26 also references Psalms 16:9; Psalms 22:22-24; Psalms 30:11; Psalms 63:5; Psalms 71:23 when it says Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope.
    8. Acts 2:27 also references Psalms 49:15; Psalms 86:13; Psalms 116:3 when it says Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell.
    9. Acts 2:27 also references Psalms 89:19 and Job 19:25-27 when it says neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
    10. Acts 2:34-35 Peter says that the prophecies that Lord Jesus Christ  would sit on the right hand  of God ther Father (the place of power just below God the Father) was fulfilled.  We see this prophecy referenced in Matthew 22:44; Mark 12:36; Luke 20:42-43; Hebrews 1:13.  We also see the same doctrine in Psalms 110:1; Mark 12:11; 1Corinthians 15:25; Ephesians 1:22 and Hebrews 10:12.
    11. Acts 4:26-28 tells us about the church praising God after Peter and John were threatened and then let go by the Jewish religious leaders.  In these sentences, the church quoted Psalms 2, which is actually a prophecy of the return of Christ  to rule this world for 1,000 years.  However, our current chapter explains how the church used this future prophecy for an application of their day.  Thus, we see prophecies can have more than one application.
    12. Acts 7 reports the message that Stephen preached to the Jewish Council.  In it, he rehearsed a summary if Jewish history including prophecies given and prophecies fulfilled.  Please see the Detailed Notes for that chapter in order to find those Bible references.
    13. In: Acts 10:43 we read that Peter preached that all the Old Testament prophecies about Christ  were fulfilled by Jesus.
    14. In: Acts 25:22 we read that king Agrippa said: I would also hear the man myself.  This fulfills the prophecy by our Lord Jesus Christ,  in Acts 9:15, that Paul would testify of Him before kings.
    15. Acts 27:39-44 reports the fulfillment of a prophecy by Paul, in Acts 27:9-10, that the sailing ship and all of the load would be destroyed if they continued.
    16. Romans 9:25 says: As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.  And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.:  The 'Church Age' is a fulfillment of Hosea 2:23.  In addition, all of Hosea 2 is a prophecy of God buying back the Jews who truly repent.
    17. Romans 9:32-33 tells us that Israel stumbled at that stumblingstone (Jesus Christ)  Because they sought it (righteousness) not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law.  This, of course, was when they crucified Jesus  and God set them aside until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled  (Luke 21:24).
    18. Romans 9:32-33, Romans 10:11 and 1Peter 2:6 says:  Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded  and references Isaiah 28:16.
    19. Romans 15:3 says: For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.  This verse quotes Psalms 69:6 which says For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.  Therefore, this verse is directly linking this instruction to the verse which prophesied (For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up) that Jesus  would cleanse  the Temple.
    20. 1Corinthians 15:54 fulfills Isaiah 25:8.
    21. 1Corinthians 15:55 fulfills Isaiah 26:19; Daniel 12:2; Hosea 13:14 and Matthew 27:51-53.
    22. 1Corinthians 15:55 fulfills Isaiah 28:5.
    23. Ephesians 4:8-10 fulfills the prophecy in Psalms 68:18.  The next sentence, in Ephesians, gives us the application of that prophecy which we still enjoy today.
    24. In Deuteronomy 18:15 and Deuteronomy 18:18, Moses prophesied: The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken.  In Hebrews 3:1-2, Acts 3:33 and Acts 7:37; we are told that Christ Jesus  fulfilled this promise.
    25. In 1John 1:1-3, we are told that Jesus Christ  fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies that God's Christ  would be 'God in human flesh'.
    26. In Revelation 12:1 we see the fulfillment of Joseph's prophetic dream which was reported in Genesis 37:9.
    27. In Revelation 14:19 we see the fulfillment of the prophecy by Jacob saying that our Lord Jesus Christ  would be a descendent from Judah and that what is reported in Revelation would come to pass.
    28. In Revelation 16 we read about the fulfillment of the prophecy given in Zechariah 14:1-5.  In particular, Revelation 16:18 fulfills Zechariah 14:5.  It also fulfillsthe prophecy of Jesus  in Matthew 24:7 and Mark 13 and Luke 21.
    29. Revelation 19:15 says that our Lord Jesus Christ  will fulfill the prophecies of Psalms 2:9; Revelation 2:27 and Revelation 12:5 when He arrives on the Earth ahd during His 1,000 years reign as Christ.
    30. Revelation 22:18-19 peomises a curse on anyone who alters the word of God.
    31. Revelation 22:20 is one of four places where we read: I come quickly.  Every one of those references promise a different blessing to the saved people who fulfill the particular requirement.  This reference promises that our opportunities to lay up treasures in Heaven will be cut off suddenly.

    Old Testament Quotes

At the time that this note was written, there were 18,811 references to the Old Testament on this web site.  (Since this web site deals mainly with the New Testament, that is more references than you will probably find anywhere else.)  The Biblical truth is that the New Testament did not replace Genesis through Malachi, but only replaced the Legal part of the Mosaic Law.  (This truth is explained in the Book of Hebrews.)

That is too many references to record in this document.  However, to help the reader search, the notes for Luke 6:3-4; Ephesians C1S3 and Romans C3S15 and the Study called Prove, all give references to where we find the phrase: it is written.  And, Luke 6:3-4 gives references to where we find the phrase: have ye not read.  Next, if the reader searches the New Testament for the word saith  (307 occurrences in the New Testament), and then uses the references found to access the note for that reference in the associated Book Studies, they should find the Old Testament reference in the note for the New Testament sentence.  In addition, if the reader looks for the Greek form of a prophet's name (for example: Jeremy  for Jeremiah),  and then go to the note for the verse referenced, they should the Old Testament reference.  (I have tried to make sure that all notes for New Testament sentences, which reference the Old Testament, provide a link to the Old Testament verse).  Basically, this proves that the New Testament is based upon the Old Testament and that we can not discard the Old Testament.
